Last night I went to see Reconciled at Barebones Black Box Theater. When I know I can make it I always purchase a ticket, especially on the Pay What You Can Community Days. I purchased two tickets without even reading the synopsis because Barebones never misses. This... I can't even call it a show. It was a performance. I was in awe that there was only one actor listed in the cast and then about ten minutes into the show I realized that the character had the same name as the actor and was all, "whoa this is his story." Jay did amazing playing all the characters in his life. This was a one-man performance that captivated all of the audience. It made me laugh and want to cry. Jay has a stage presence like no other and is worth all of the accolades. Going on the journey of his story and watching the play come back to the beginning was chef's kiss. I love writing so to listen and watch him perform the words was amazing. Next week is the last week to catch the show. It's worth every minute. I'm still in awe of how one person can capture an audience for 80 minutes with no intermission.
