Lifestyle sessions will forever be my favorite type of family sessions.

I always believe that kids should be in charge of family sessions once you start shooting. Letting kids get comfortable in front of the camera is so important in getting genuine smiles and photographing the memories you will want to look back on in ten, twenty years.

There is no better way to do that then shooting at your own house and letting the kids be kids. And well add in any type of animals to that session and I’m in heaven. I had so much fun chasing around all the chickens and this adorable pup.

So here is your sign to invite me over to your house and let me hang out with your family with my camera in hand. We can explore outside, inside, cook your favorite dish with your family, play your fave board game, sit around a fire, the options really are endless. Just think of your favorite activities your kids love and let’s plan!

This whole session was such a dream!

No idea how I got so lucky to have this incredible woman in my life. Forever grateful she responded to a fb post about hiring an assistant for wedding days 7 years ago.

She’s become such a huge part of my business and my life ever since!

We got so many good shots in a quick 30 min shoot a few weeks ago at my house. Always love anytime I get to have these two in front of my camera!

Keep forgetting to post all my favorites from the rest of this maternity session!

Not sure ill ever get over getting to photograph this dreamy couple at my house!

Crazy next month already makes two years since we moved to Breaux Bridge and bought our house. It was always such a huge dream of mine to own land that I could create on. Still feels so surreal being able to photograph timeless and cherished images in my own backyard.

It was pretty much impossible to narrow down favorites from this session so sorry for the overshare but are they not the cutest and most photogenic couple ever?

Feels so weird to be fully caught up with edits. I have NEVER said those words during the fall in the past 13 years.

Three years ago I had 7 weddings in November and 2 years ago I had six weddings in November and was also 6 months pregnant and thought it was a good idea to shoot a wedding in Mandeville then fly straight to Cancun and shoot a wedding hours after landing in Mexico.

Still not over how I survived either of those months but to only have one wedding this month feels a bit unreal.

I did however shoot over 40 families in the last month, a bo***ir session, three bridals, 7 branding sessions and one wedding in October. So still super impressed that I am somehow am fully caught up with edits.

Trying to work on some much needed house projects this week and hoping to paint the tile above the tub in our master bathroom and the cabinet in the guest bathroom. So if you have ever painted tile before or a bathroom cabinet I’d love any tips you have! There is so many things I would love to remodel and trying to just focus on a few small projects I can do myself. Also have some fun photoshoots I’m hoping to do with Jesse this week that I’m really excited about. I’m sure I will post all the behind the scenes on my stories so fingers crossed it ends up being a productive week.

Decided today was the day to take out the tripod and try and attempt some family pictures so we could mail out Christmas Cards. Of course this year im guilty of not booking an actual photographer AGAIN. I got ready while Jesse napped but soon after realized the lighting was crap and super overcast so decided today wasn’t the day.

Then as soon as Jesse woke up from a way too late nap, I decided to check out the outfits to see if I really liked them. So figured why not attempt a few self timer pics even though the sun had already gone down.

So enjoy the behind the scenes of me acting like a crazy momma trying to get Jesse to smile. And for any photographers out there if you haven’t tried setting up your tripod and putting self timer mode on I highly suggest it. I mean nothing of course beats an actual photoshoot but you will never regret having more pictures. And fingers crossed the sun comes out one day this week and we eventually get some cute family photos!

For those that watched the behind the scenes of self portraits with Jesse yesterday here are some of the images we got.

Like I mentioned before it was after the sun had already set and super cloudy and misting so lighting was horrible so nothing I would print out but still memories i’m happy to have documented.

Now to decide which outfit for family pictures that fingers crossed will happen tomorrow with the tripod while the sun is actually out.

Not every day you get to have an American Idol winner and a Saintsation in front of your camera!

It was so fun to work with Laine Hardy and his gorgeous fiancé Jordan! Lots more to come from this dreamy shoot of the cutest couple!

I just had one person that had to reschedule for Saturday’s Vintage Christmas Mini Sessions at my house and thinking of possibly adding ONE more date of these, if I get enough interest.

I finally have a full day off and i’m somehow caught up with editing so yes, this is my third post for the day!

I couldn’t help but think this bride looked so much like Penelope Cruz the entire time I took her bridal pics!

Anyone else think they could be twins!? Either way I have adored having this stunning girl in front of my camera the past year and getting to shoot Strawberry Manor Event Venue for engagements, bridals and the most perfect wedding ever!

It POUREDDDD down raining the entire day of this bridal session and majority day of the engagements as well but we did have the most perfect weather for the wedding! I mean it was a little hot but all the dreamy light totally made up for all the sweat!
