It is my favorite time of the year. This time of year always feels like it comes and goes so quickly. Before I know it the leaves have fallen and winter is upon us.

Maroon Bells is one of those iconic spots in the fall where you stand in front of these mountains and it feels surreal. Like you’re in some painting.

When Amy & Tyler said they wanted to do their elopement photos here, of course the answer was yes.

Sometimes even I forget the power of a photograph. All the memories store in one visual image.

They help you remember the best and sometime the hardest times in your life. The people that matter and ones that have passed. They are the first thing we look for after all when something has gone wrong and they are no longer with us. Did I take enough photos so I can remember? Then there are life changing moments like these.

8 years ago my son was placed in our arms by another mother.

When I was 31 I was diagnosed with cancer that would steal my ability to have any more biological children. I was devastated. But there are more than one way to make a family.

Jordan Landen was a gift from an amazing Mom who made a brave choice. We hope we live up to that every day.

These photos are among some of my greatest possessions. They remind me that sometimes the struggle and pain we suffer is all worth it. That we are where we are in fact, supposed to be. They are raw and vulnerable and visual storytelling at its best.

These photos remind me of one of the hardest days but also one of the best days of my life. And for that I’m so grateful.

This is likely my favorite part of a wedding day. There is so much joy it is unmistakable. The nerves of the ceremony settle and the kids has sealed the deal and the walk back up the aisle shows all the love, joy and emotion.

I have relationships with industry friends all over the world. I’ve been sharing some of their Venmos and stories on my instagram stories this week, however, is setup to provide up to $5k in immediate relief to wedding and event professionals in need of assistance right now. I’m asking clients, friends, and industry professionals not in Maui to donate even $5 so we can help get these people back on their feet after losing everything from their homes, all possessions, pets, their livelihood and even their neighbors.

I’ve been reaching out to all the organizations I’m a part of trying to raise as much as possible as well as making sure that my friends in Maui know this is available to them. I’ve heard numbers in the 20-30s of event professionals just like me who have lost their homes.

Take a moment and skip something today to help an industry pro regain their footing.

Many of our clients are planning destination weddings from out of state or event the country. When I refer to us (yes it’s truly us - we have 5 photographers and a videographer on our team), we often refer to destination wedding to us, but we also travel all over the world. This incredible couple, for example, found us in Aspen as their family has a condo in Snowmass, and were married in New Orleans.

We go anywhere and ultimately traveling is part of why we love this work so much. It fulfills our need to connect with people on a personal level and travel to places all over the world.
