Northern Oaks Events is one of the new to me venues I had the privilege to DJ at this year. I was in aww as soon as I turned onto their property! It only got better from there!! The owners truly have put their hearts & soul into every detail. I can't recommend this central Minnesota Wedding venue enough!! Tell them Sean Rumble Productions, Wedding DJ Specialist sent ya!!

After a few years. To stay competitive, price's will increase for 2025.

I don't have a website as I've never needed one, 95% of my bookings are word of mouth or they have seen me dj/mc an event. 27 years as a professional DJ/MC. One day I'll sit down, list some fun / not so fun events over the years. To be honest, my very first dj gig was in Dickinson ND at the Teen Center between 6th / 7th grade back in 1986. Used a duel cassette player boombox, had mixed tapes I made, put microphone by the speakers, we had a blast. I was always the guy playing music at parties. Was the geek in the A/V Club in High School. Music has always been my escape. I got along with all the groups in school, I was introduced to a plethora of different styles. That is where my knowledge of music started. Even growing up, the older brothers in our neighborhood had all the great music. Their dad owned "Brass and Wax" I grew up with music. Then my dream came true, I got hired by our local radio station where I had "The Ride Home with Rumble Show", afternoon drive time slot. I think I still owe Columbia House for the Cds / cassette tapes I got over the years!

BUT, WE'VE ALWAYS DONE IT THIS WAY

The dawn of new age wedding receptions. As of late the term "traditional wedding dance" is being said less and less. Newlyweds are opting anywhere from "NO KIDS" to "WE DONT WANT TRADITIONAL WEDDING SONGS". As a dj/mc, who is or is not invited does not affect how we dj, playing what the couples want, does. Couples invest in their vendors to ensure they get the best day envisioned.

Personally, if I played every song in the same order at every event, I would quit djing. My goal is to turn the couples vision into reality, this is where the lines get blurred. Majority of song lists are moving away from "the same songs you hear at every wedding" with that being said, guests outside the couples age range are not huge fans of the music selection. Professionally I do my best to put the couples first, they provide a "must play" list along with "we'd like you to play" and "do not play" lists. The traditional "go to" songs from the past that the Parents, Grand Parents, Aunts / Uncles are used to shaking a leg to are fading away to the top hits from the 2000s with a few 90s / 80s thrown in. Fading out are the 60s / 70s songs that brought the guest to the dance floor to kick off the night. Now, more couples are wanting those top 10 hits from last 15 to 20 years to fill the venue from start to last dance.

My business, referrals, bookings has always been successful from word of mouth to, they've been to one or more of my events. I've never needed a website. I've always welcomed the constructive feedback. That fine line is getting tougher to balance on. On one hand, I want the couple to dance the night away with their guest yet, I want to get everyone dancing. The last thing I want to see are older guests leave cause they HATE the music. They make it known to me "this music is terrible" "we would not recommend you to anyone".
