We held a construction coordination meeting tonight for a new project! 🔔🔔🔔

But first, we had to admire all of the indirect natural daylight which was created when we tore down a low ceiling. The demolition process revealed an original stairwell opening which was covered up in 1946!

We edged nearly all the landscape beds and put down new black mulch!

How can March be upon us already? We have a busy slate of events and construction projects coming up!

It’s going to be a busy Spring!

Progress = busy!

1) documenting decades worth of paint layers and finding the right one to showcase as “original paint”.

2) peeling back the wall in the kitchen stairwell to reveal the glazed block, concrete sub plaster and top coat plaster. This tells the story of how this part of the building was constructed in 1936.

3) furniture purchase and assembly in the balcony lounge. Tons more accessories to bring in to make it a cozy meeting space and hang out zone. Thank you Waldron Family for coordinating and assembling!

4) drywalling the storage room! Thank you Nevin, Chandler, and THE Kent Koontz for your help tonight!

5) discovering a void in the ceiling within the storage room where St.Pauls students hid toys, candy wrappers, and even tests (perhaps they didn’t want their parents to see?!) We even came across a document showing the 1972 school calendar - what a discovery!

Caught our fantastic drywall finisher cheesin 😁 for the camera while he makes final touches in the kitchen stairwell! His work is immaculate and his attention to detail is 5 ⭐️!!!

Look at his beautiful work he did on the organ alcove archway! Blessed by his friendship and his contributions to our team!

Another project begins! One thing we have lacked is an adequate storage room for excess chairs and tables! This space next to the bridal suite will be primarily for storage but could be used as a flex room when empty!

We can’t wait to see the transformation! The lime green concrete walls prior to the 1980’s wood paneling….😜🤪😁 The massive heavy display cabinet on wheels was left by St. Paul’s Lutheran Church when they moved out in 2002.
