Our Story

Founded in 2016, the Brevard Music Center is proud to announce another season of the Jazz Institute @ Brevard. Led by renowned jazz trombonist Michael Dease, Brevard's jazz program provides a 2-week immersive jazz experience focusing on fundamental musical and technical elements, while exploring topics ranging from practice discipline to the process and procedures of jazz recording. Our faculty includes some of the busiest working professionals in the industry – all of whom are excited about sharing their expertise with an enthusiastic student body. The program will enroll up to 70 high school and college-age (and above) students who will participate in big band and combo classes and performances, private lessons, and mentoring sessions with world renowned faculty and guest artists.
