Last weekend we had a different group of guests at the ranch.

Scouts from BSA Troops 7 and 9 learned about cold weather survival, first aid and snowshoeing at the Marine Mountain Warfare Training center in Bridgeport. The Marines on base taught about the history of the training center and took several questions from scouts and their leaders about all aspects of training in these challenging environments. BSA Eagle Scout and USMC Captain Kren lead the Scouts on a snowshoeing hike in Leavitt Meadows.

Without a winter season Forest Service camping option in the area, the Scouts camped at Bridgeport Ranch, utilizing their outdoor kitchen, bbq, fire pit, restrooms and ample ground areas to pitch tents.

Their Scout Leader commented “Everything was fantastic. The kitchen area was a huge bonus and of course Benny was amazing.”

We hope you visit us again next year!

Many congratulations to Jade and Eric who got married in June. A wonderful couple who kept their spirits high when the weather moved in. Luckily they were a small group so we were able to move them into the barn. We wish them a glorious life together.
