We’ve spent 15 Christmas Days together- Stephen and I. Over those 15 years, some things have changed but there are things that will always remain the same. Christmas Evening at Pap and Grandmom’s is one of those things.

Pap always had a story to tell and a poem to recite. These deer heads had a story of their own, but my favorite was seeing them decorated for the holidays. This was the second Christmas without Pap and it felt different. Still filled with love and memories and laughter but also a wave of grief. The grief I felt convinced me to listen to my older sister and capture the moment of what Christmas feels like in this home. Pap and Grandmom’s. Even the smallest details deserve to be captured.

We had the privilege to shoot this sweet family last weekend. Ms. Gloria (first picture) was so proud to tell us that she was born “in the front room of this house.” Not only did she grow up here, her and her husband raised their own family here so it was only fitting for all of the family to come back to this beautiful place to capture these moments.

The rock the house was built with was hand picked at the river found behind the home (second photo). Ms. Gloria’s husband radiated with pride as he told stories of the family farm and the legacies that were built there and continue to grow.

Celebrating an anniversary and capturing some brand shots of the fairy tale venue ✨🌿🤎 Kristen and Marcus decided to celebrate one year of marriage by setting up their farmstead fairy tale to showcase their vision for an amazing intimate space for weddings and small events.
