Alpaca shearing is wrapped up! Now onto other projects like getting The Vermont Wedding Barn ready for the season.

Les is shown here hand shearing to remove the outer coat of this young alpaca. Alpacas' baby coats tend to act like velcro and have everything cling to them. Les is removing the outer very dirty layer and exposing the clean fleece underneath. After the handclipping, the alpaca will be shorn again with regular clippers to get the remaining usable fleece off.

Throwback pic! 😍 The whole family cleaning up at an alpaca show. We used to actively travel across the country to participate in many different events, and we were quite successful! Now we've moved on to other things such as being the first alpaca farm to offer alpaca meat for consumption! 😋😋 Our natural grass-fed meat has no additives, and it tastes similar to beef.
