Richard Chunn Jr., 87 of Brinkley, passed away on Sunday evening September 4 at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehab Center in Little Rock.

Richard was born March 20, 1935 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Richard Chunn Sr. And Lillian Woodson-Chunn. He was one of three children born to this union.

Richard was raised in Cotton Plant and attended the Cotton Plant Public School System.

Growing up in Cotton Plant, Richard regularly attended church services with his family at Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Richard was united in holy matrimony to Barbara Adell on August 19, 1959.

Forever a hard and dependable worker, Richard was employed with Bobby Henard’s Tire Service in Brinkley for more than 56 years, before his health began to fail. He had formerly been employed with the previous owner of the tire company for about 11 years.

His parents: Richard Chunn and Lillian Woodson-Chunn; two daughters: Sherry Chunn Veasley and Sandra Solomon; two sisters: Evelyn Davis and Louise Chunn-Thompson and a nephew, Glenn Chunn all preceded Richard in death.

Survivors are: his wife of 63 years Barbara Adell-Chunn of Brinkley, AR; three sons: Richard (Gloria) Chunn III of Lithonia, GA; Anthony Broadway and Oliver Wayne Adell both of Brinkley, AR; five daughters: Kathryn Chunn Veasley of Little Rock, AR; Angela Chunn-McMillion of Brinkley, AR; Mary (Jeff) Reed-Seyton and Beverly Solomon both of Chicago, Ill; and Latoria Beasley of Little Rock, AR; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; a son in law Tony Veasley of Page, SD; his Bobby Henard Tire Company Family of Brinkley, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday afternoon, September 10 at 1 PM at Haven of Rest Cemetery, First and Charlyne Street in Brinkley with Reverend Dedrick Adell officiating. For more information, please feel free to contact us at (870) 589-5036.

Anyone who isn't immediate family who plans on attending the service may want to bring their own lawn chairs, water and masks! Thank you.
