What perfect weather for the Harvest Party yesterday! Executive Director, Scott Perkins enjoyed some laughs at the apple launch to end the day. We had a great time reconnecting with friends and meeting new families! Photos from the event will be posted this week.

Meet Karmyn!🌟

We are extremely excited to announce the addition of Karmyn Flachsbart to the Fair Haven Team. Although she has served in many different roles and in various capacities here at FHC over the years, she will now be embarking on a new journey as camp's Office Manager & Director of Marketing.

Karmyn and her husband Nate, who have been married for 8 years, live in Waldo County. They love spending their free time hiking, kayaking, and caring for their German Shepherds and chickens. 🐕🐓

You may be surprised to learn that Karmyn struggled with severe homesickness during her first summer as a camper. Despite this fact, she returned year after year and now considers Fair Haven her second home - just as many of you do. Camp has had such a profound impact on Karmyn's life and Christian growth; so much so, that it inspired her to pursue a degree in Camp Ministry.

Karmyn’s extensive background and expertise includes roles as a Counselor, Assistant Girl’s Director, Girl’s Director, and Program Director. She has also worked in administration, project management, and middle school programs for both non-profits and large corporations. Her main passion though is coaching others to grow as Christian leaders.

We are thrilled to welcome Karmyn to our team and excited for the positive energy and expertise that she brings!

Thank you Central Church! Through their "Serve-Central" initiative, 23 individuals came to camp to assist with end of summer clean-up efforts. Because of their hard work hillsides were reclaimed and grounds were restored. Our sincerest appreciation for Kathryn Temple at Central Church for organizing and working this event!

SAVE THE DATE! This years golf tournament was such a huge success we already have a reservation for next year (2025) -Saturday August 9th (8:00AM at Country View Golf Club). A special thanks to our many sponsors including our tournament sponsor Whitcomb Contracting. In total, over $11,000 was raised to support camp! Also, congratulations to our winning team, the "Turkey Bowl Hall of Fame" who edged out their competition with a stellar performance from their star golfer Kara Adolphsen. Way to go!!!

We want to thank our most recent "Level 2" Tournament Sponsors ($2,500), Jason and Kristin Stutheit, along with their business’s C.E.M.(Construction Estimating and Management), Maine Commercial Solar, Pond Hill Farms, Pond Hill Properties, and DP Porter Contractors, who have long been dear friends and faithful supporters of Fair Haven Camps. As a proud member of one of the founding families, Kristin is keeping the tradition alive, just as her grandparents Elwen and Hilda Sheldon did, by supporting the mission of sharing the gospel far and wide. Their contributions to camp are too many to enumerate here, but they have helped with many projects around camp including stepping up a year and a half ago when camp really needed the help. At the height of the construction efforts this summer, they had donated and left on site for use: 3 excavators, a bulldozer, a 3-yard front end loader, 2 track loaders, a 20-yard tri-axle dump truck, 2 MEC Titan platform boom lifts, a JLG boom lift, a 23-ton crane truck, along with miscellaneous tools, equipment, and over 5000 yards of gravel to make these projects happen! We can’t thank them enough for their extremely generous contributions. As one of Camp’s closest neighbors, with a family farm that overlooks the camp property, they have pledged to continue their support to camp, and will work towards improving and helping us in any way that they can. We will remain forever grateful for all that they have done and for this amazing relationship!

The 17th Annual Carl Brown Golf Tournament has been rescheduled for Saturday August 17th at 8:00AM. The postponement is due to impending weather and concerns for potential damage to the Brooks Country View Golf Course with tournament level activities following significant rainfall. We certainly do apologize for the inconvenience, but we look forward to seeing everyone on the 17th!!!

Men of Faith Day of Service - A very special thanks to Faith Church in Waterville and the "Men of Faith" team, who showed up at camp Saturday ready to work! From the extraordinary weather, to the effort and enthusiasm exhibited by all, it proved to be a day that will long be remembered. We hope they know just how much their commitment to Fair Haven Camps means and how much their "labor" "in the Lord" is appreciated. They truly are MEN OF FAITH!!!

Fall Retreat - Cancelled

In light of the recent tragedy Wednesday night, here in our very own Lewiston, Maine, and given the fact that the suspect remains at large, it is with extremely heavy hearts for the victims and their families that we have decided to cancel the upcoming Fall Retreat scheduled for this Friday October 27th. This decision was not only made after prayer and thoughtful consideration, but with the input and advice from local law enforcement as well.

Although we are disappointed that we will not be able to gather with everyone and participate in activities as planned, we certainly realize that this pales in comparison to the fear and sorrow that many are feeling as they attempt to deal with the loss that comes with such heinous and senseless acts. To that end, our thoughts and prayers remain with all those who continue to be affected by this tragedy, as well as those who are working tirelessly to ensure public safety and who remain vigilant in seeing to it that those responsible are brought to justice.
