I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many, many friends and family who reached out to me on my 75th birthday 🎂 A special thank you to my dear Michael who cheerfully sent me off with our dance family to Ohio to attend the Ohio Star Ball.Thank you to Dance Arlington Ballroom for the video , the special dinner and the lovely gifts . Thanks Maria, Anna and Annie Lu for picking me up at the airport and returning me to the airport three days later. Every single one of you are special to me. A few days ago, Michael and I had the most amazing experience. We were driving down Broadrun Road in a heavily wooded area, and we came upon this white object which was struggling. We stopped the truck and got out and took a look. What we saw was amazing. a copperhead snake had wrapped itself around the body of a hawk under both wingspans, and was suffocating a juvenile hawk. The hawk, needless to say, was distraught. Michael ran back to our cabin and got his 22 and shot the copperhead in the head. We then proceeded to unwind the snake which did not want to give. We finally got it off, and it was just draped over the shoulders of the hawk. We took it completely off, and the most amazing thing happened. The hawk walked up to Michael stared at him and spread his wings and flapped them. She did this over and over again while staring at him. We got in the truck to drive away, and she watched him get in the driver side and then flew to the treetop. I’m sure we will never see anything that magnificent again. ❤️
