How should your ancestors summon you?

How to summon Magi Awen 50 years from now:

On a waning crescent moon, in the 8th hour of the day, light a wicked lamp fed with green oil and the scent of o***m.

As the air fills with flame and fume, start the coffee maker ensuring you use high quality fresh ground beans infused with vanilla....or Maxwell House.

As you meditate and wish for them to arrive, take in the scents and smoke around you.

She will appear bumping into things and mumbling incoherently in a comfy bathrobe & fluffy slippers.

This is when you pour a cup of the freshly brewed coffee in your offering mug and say, "Thank you for being here with us MagiAwen, we will now give you an hour before we attempt to communicate."

Several customers over the last two weeks have let me know they support the Blue Hills Pagans in Recovery Weekly Meeting that we are hosting. Even though they may not be personally affected, they let me know they see what we're trying to do here and let me know they support it and feel it's needed.

I appreciate that so much. Even if you are not in recovery, it would be cool if you could follow Blue Hills Pagans in Recovery page and, as I get things up on the FB page and website, share it around to your online groups or personal feeds. You might not know whose life you might change just by doing that. I've heard from dozens of people. There are daily virtual meetings on the main intergroup site and weekly meetings at my shop in Bruce. If other local establishments or organizations want to get a group going or have our group meet at your place just drop me a line here or at [email protected]

-More ingredients and fun stuff coming the week of Imbolc and Candlemas and throughout the month of February. The mortar, pestle and cauldron has been busy. ;)

The Lady had a lot to say to me these past weeks. After a year, I've listened, and the shop is again evolving to get closer to what she is destined to be. (don't ask me what she's destined to be, it's not my concern, we're on a journey unwrapping the present)

Blue Hills Pagans in Recovery every Sunday in person meetings is now officially on the PIR Intergroup site and we are able to now attend the intergroup meetings (organizational meetings)!!!!

We will have our own site up soon with more info on our specific group. PROGRESS!!

Busy and late day today at the shop. A really great day! So many to talk to and connect with.... we are truly building a community the way it would be expected. Slowly through trust.

In the shop, the only thing we have to really agree on is mutual respect and maintaining dignity for ourselves and each other because ultimately, we are all humans, and all humans (all beings) are deserving of care and respect as it relates to boundaries.

I've only had the DIY intention bottles up and mostly organized for a week and it seems a very popular area. I'm so glad for that. I have put up correspondences of crystals, herbs, metals, elements and etc. and have provided crystals, consecrated salts, herbs and flowers so far. I'll be switching these up, so you always have something different to choose from.

Also, I have been working on a spell jar recipe book.... there are 19 spell bottles in the book and over 70 ingredients .... working on a spell pack for the book...but you can use the book before I get the spell pack on board, most are household herbs and spices.... of course, because....Kitchen Witch.

A note....I have no idea why people think this but... the Blue Hills Pagans in Recovery group is about people in 12 step recovery that happen to not be mainstream religion and care not to attend groups where they feel uncomfortable because the predominant religion that officiants and/or members have colors their treatment. i.e. if their eyes roll because you express the 12-step spiritual awakening in a way that doesn't conform to their beliefs, maybe try us. We don't condemn; we don't attempt to convert.

It's not a joke about people recovering from being in Christianity. Religious abuse is a serious issue, and we also welcome any person who needs recovery assistance from a cult and/or religious abuse of any kind. Atheists and undecideds are welcome.

None of this is a joke or parody. I understand people chuckle and laugh when they are uncomfortable....if you find yourself laughing at the idea of a safe space for people that are not mainstream religion while in recovery, consider you have issues that need to be addressed. Please do so with a qualified therapist, our peer group will not be able to assist you.

I am so very proud of the progress we have made in the Pagan/non-traditional/other realm in this area.

Awareness of those of similar mind is a big deal here. You've never been alone, you just didn't know.

We don't have to be besties to realize how huge (and I do mean huge) our community is. Way more than those against.

I look forward to meeting many more of you this year and to see what we can bring to the community.

*Squee!!* It's going to be a very good year!!

We had the inaugural or first organizational meeting of the Blue Hills Pagans in Recovery Fellowship meeting today. It was exhilarating, enlightening and sometimes disheartening.

Disheartening because people really do feel like they are being discounted, skipped over or otherwise indirectly (or directly) shamed for bringing up what helps them in their recovery if the spiritual point is something other than what their current group gravitates to. i.e. their story or experience is not accepted as "legit" in other groups.

Enlightening because we have identified there truly is a gap that our folks in any type of 12-step recovery are falling through or simply don't feel they can share part of their spiritual development in their 12 steps with the groups they are in or have been to. Worse, that MANY people here DON'T EVEN KNOW there are support groups despite having been arrested or been in therapy due to their issues. So many gaps in education of programs is crazy...we have access to so much and very few know about it and even fewer of the people that need it know about it. Shameful.

Exhilarating because we have the people and experience to provide a safe space for those of no belief system, an alternative belief system or a lifestyle or gender choice that current groups don't provide for.

Here I would like to give a disclaimer that the feedback I've heard wasn't necessarily about the organization(s) having the meetings that made the participants feel unwelcome or uncomfortable it's mainly subtle human interaction that has made some 12 step attendees uncomfortable or feel unwelcomed.

An example may be that the person in recovery shares a dream which they interpreted as a message from spirit about a step and what their realizations were from that dream...and other attendees that don't believe you can get insight from dreams or visions roll their eyes or sigh or ..in extreme cases tell you your interpretation is wrong and then proceed to tell you how THEIR belief system interprets YOUR experience.

This is not how ANY 12-step system is designed. But it can be how some 12 step support groups can become if not facilitated and educated well or if their attendees are disproportionately of one belief system.

Hey Folks! I'll see you tomorrow (Jan.1, the last day of Yuletide). It's okay though if you spend with family or rehydrating from tonight's festivities lol. I have new stuff this week like DIY intention/spell bottles and expect to expand my herbal and essential oil offerings as well in 2025 based on your input.

I also have these cute zodiac oracle books that you can use literally daily through the year or via bibliomancy. I've been using my zodiac sign one as bibliomancy and it's been quite good.

Also, the classes portion of the site is down. This is due to the sales platform I'm using, it will be back up soon.

It hasn't been a full year yet since I've opened, but I've been listening and watching and am excited for what 2025 will bring....not just to me as a business owner...but to help foster the "non-traditional" community that is, and has always been, here.

I don't entertain "gatekeepers" on my business page. What is a "gatekeeper"? Essentially someone who tells you that you or your practices are "wrong" because you don't follow someone else's beliefs.

Here are some examples:
#1: "If you give credit to or worship some other god than mine, then you are going to my gods' version of hell.

#2: "You can't do magick in certain ways because we are scared of a major religion and you'll "get it" back threefold."

You may note that both of these examples are rooted in ...not from gods or goddesses ....but religions very much created by man...humans. Humans that want to control the narrative and history.

Does this mean there is no danger in spiritual pursuits? No...but they are actually very much in your control. You knowing it's all under your control and the fact you can affect things on your own, doesn't bring cash into their bank account from yours. ;)
