When hiring a wedding planner or coordinator, there are a few things to consider. These three tips can help make your experience a good one. Whether you are utilizing wedding planner services for day-of coordination or services for the entire event.

(*BTaBC can get you in touch with some amazing coordinators! Reach out to us today to get some connections started.)
1. Create Your Vision
The best practice when hiring a wedding planner is to put everything on paper first. This allows you to pour out all your ideas and creates a brainstorming opportunity. It is clearer when you see it in black and white.
2. Be Honest
Remain open to new ideas as the wedding planner makes suggestions or recommendations, but remember to always remain true to yourself. Yes, your consultant may have experience and insight. but if you are not on board with any idea let them know.
3. Be Practical
Be careful not to expect demands that are impossible. Things such as a last-minute venue change or request for flowers that are out of season can be expensive and delay certain guarantees. It’s the nature of the business.

From tall centerpieces to hand-tied bouquets, the cost of your wedding flowers can quickly add up.
When you're working with limited funds or trying to get the most out of your flower budget, nearly any pro will recommend focusing your spend on certain areas for maximum impact—even if that means skipping out on smaller details elsewhere. Prioritize spending on high-visibility areas that will stand out to guests and in photos, like the bouquet, altar and tablescape, to make the most of the budget.

Instead of using your flower budget to get as many arrangements as possible, be frank about where people will really be spending the most time, and double-down on decorating those key areas. Secondary arrangements for transient areas like the bar, restrooms and venue entrance are nice to have, but you'll get more bang for your buck by prioritizing flowers for other focal areas where guests are more likely to linger.

We know several vendors that could help you acquire the perfect floral arrangements!

While there are no set “rules” for choosing wedding centerpieces, there are some do’s and don’ts to keep in mind as you’re brainstorming ideas. For example, you do want to choose wedding centerpieces that make a statement, but you don’t want them to be so big that your guests can’t see each other across the table.

DO:

Let the season be your guide. Creating wedding centerpieces around what’s currently in season will not only match your venue, but it can also help save you some cash! And as a bonus, your blooms will be extra fresh for the big day.
Mix up the heights of your wedding centerpieces. This adds visual interest and dimension to your tablescape — plus, your guests will appreciate not having to awkwardly lean around a giant arrangement just to chat!

DON'T:

Overcrowd the table. As much as you may love maximalist wedding centerpiece ideas, don’t forget to leave room for dishes, drinks, and napkins. You never want your guests to feel like they don’t have enough room to enjoy their meal!
Limit yourself to floral centerpieces. Large botanicals can be expensive, and there are so many other design ideas you can incorporate into your wedding centerpiece to make a unique statement — from lanterns to succulents to even fruit.

Hair has had a fascinating evolution over the past 100 years, with bridal hairstyles remaining a major focal point within pop culture, contemporary fashion and our history as a whole. Flashforward to today, the modern bride has an endless catalogue of hairstyles to look back on and admire. Unlike other decades, the 2020s hasn’t solidified itself just yet with a particular trend or look, and instead has put new, refreshing spins on hundreds of styles from the past. Brides today are all about modernizing classics and putting our own unique twists on vintage wedding hair, from Hollywood Waves to traditional buns to bohemian braids.

If you're looking for set of skilled hands to work some new life and new vision into your hair, we know several! Listed below are a few.

This one's for the guests!
Sometimes, wedding-goers wonder about what they need to bring to a couple's ceremony and reception. While most things you need will be there - namely, food and drink - there are a few essentials you'll want to have on hand.

**A Change of Shoes**
Your sky-high stilettos match perfectly with your cocktail dress, but they'll destroy your feet on the dance floor. Consider packing a change of shoes, such as ballet flats or pretty sandals, for the reception.

**Sunglasses**
Attending an outdoor ceremony in the morning or afternoon? Be prepared for bright sunlight by bringing sunglasses. Also, if rain is in the forecast, an umbrella could save your hair, makeup, and outfit from getting wet.

**Gift**
You can bring cash, checks, cards, and other smaller presents to the reception, and you'll promptly deposit it on the gift table. On the other hand, larger gifts should be sent directly to the couple's home; you can usually find the instructions on the registry.

**Allergy Medications**
Allergy sufferers know that symptoms act up during certain seasons. If you're attending an outdoor wedding that's taking place at a farm, park, or other open-air venue, pack your preferred allergy medicine.
