Finding the Dream Venue

Uriah Werner grew up in Buena Vista, Colorado and since the age of 17, had a dream of one day creating a theater that was self-sustaining. 8 years ago, he created The Loft Music Venue in Colorado Springs as the start of that dream. The venue was originally inside the Templeton Building in Old Colorado City on the 3rd floor and was just 900 square feet.

After 1.5 years of growing that venue space and hosting dozens of concerts and events, he moved it next door to the 3500 square foot space it now resides in. With seating for 140 and standing shows of up to 175, the venue has become one of the most celebrated wedding and events venues in Colorado Springs. We now host nearly 70 weddings and over 100 other events a year at The Loft Music Venue, The Loft Vault and The Loft Collective. The size of the venues, however, still limits shows and events, so Uriah sought out to find a bigger venue.

In December of 2016, Uriah found and started remodeling the Orpheum Theater in Buena Vista. He and his team spent all of 2017 and half of 2018 building restrooms, a kitchen, a box office, a bridal suite and groom’s room, sound booth, balony, bar and stairs. The historic Orpheum Theater is now back in business and is excited to be hosting everything from fund raisers, prom, weddings, receptions and concerts to family reunions, parties and rehearsal dinners. Uriah and his team believe that The Loft Orpheum Theater is the dream venue he has been looking for since he was a teenager. The amazing and ironic part of this story is that the Opheum Theater was in his home town the whole time he was growing up. He just didn’t now it existed until a few years ago. Please come by and take a tour of this amazing space.
