I am so incredibly grateful for the fantastic Wildroot team and extended family (those pictured here and many, many not). Working together with such genuine and thoughtful people every day will forever and always be the thing I am most grateful for as a business owner. That is followed in close second by the honor that we are given to design for such an incredible set of customers. We had so many lovely interactions today, even as we hustled and bustled our way right to the very last minute. We are exhausted in the best possible way and so grateful. Flannels and dahlias abound. 🍁🍂 These blooms are SO good and then they’re gone - sadly, real real soon. We have somewhere between 1-3 weeks left for dahlias and all other locally-grown beauties until next year. Mother Nature will make that call, and sometimes without too much warning! Be sure to snag a last bundle while you can!

Behind the Wildroot name

After graduation from the University at Buffalo, Wildroot owner, Kayla Grazen, headed immediately to Massachusetts and years later moved to Texas. She aims to bring the knowledge, design style, and passion she gained in those "wild" years across the US back to her "roots" here in Buffalo, NY.

WILDROOT BUFFALO HISTORY:

Wildroot Hair Tonic was introduced in Buffalo, NY in 1911. The 1937 Wildroot office and factory still stand on Bailey Avenue though the building has now been vacant for over 25 years. Wildroot thrived in the city during the height of Buffalo's population growth and economic success largely due to the city's position in the nation's transportation network.

Wildroot found great success in a nationwide marketing campaign that popularized the hair tonic and established it as a household name. Nat King Cole sang its catchy jingle and Ronald Reagan can be found in its print ads. The advertising firm in charge of the massive campaign was BBDO, the inspiration for the show Mad Men.
