It has been so great having this restaurant across the street from us. I have NEVER had a bad meal there. The food is fantastic, and when are you not in the mood for upscale Caribbean cuisine? I have a secret special batch of my original Hell sauce from Grand Cayman days! Unfortunately they have folded and the labels are mine again. Our first hot sauces were sold at the post office in Hell Grand Cayman! Can’t wait to share on jerksauce.com. I had red scotch bonnet peppers shipped in from Jamaica! Super hot but with that Krista’s Kitchen flavor of fresh thyme,garlic, and tomato!

Today I filmed a journey through the woods to a place where wild ramps grow abundant and strong. The sweet smell of these tasty greens filled the air and my heart is full of gratitude for the forage I was blessed with today.

Wild ramps are part of the onion family. They're also known as wild leeks or wild onions. They have a sweet, earthy taste that's similar to scallions and garlic.

There are so many ideas floating through my head of what I'm going to make with these! 🌱

I have a very fun and flavorful three part Chilean cooking series, starting with Part 1, coming out tomorrow! This 3 course meal emcompases the wonderful flavors that Chile and Peru have to offer.

Part 1: I show you how to make Empanadas de Pino (chilean beef empanadas) from scratch, including the dough and the filling.

Part 2: Then we move on to Ceviche! This is a seafood dish where fresh, scallops, or shrimp are cured in fresh citrus juices and herbs. The acidity from the citrus cooks the meat and paired vegetables. We used scallops in this dish and it turned out absolutely delightful.

Part 3: Pebre! This is a Chilean and Peruvian appetizer or snack that closely resembles salsa. It can be best enjoyed on top of bread or with chips!

This series was so much fun to make and I hope you enjoy the flavors of Chile as much as I do! And always remember, food is love! 💗
