The Shea's Summer Musical Theatre Intensive is rounding out its second week and our Teaching Artists are thrilled to see the show coming to life on stage! The students of SSMTI wrote their own original musicals complete with original choreography, costumes, and props all in the theme of "Creature Chronicles: Lost Stories of the Animal Kingdom". Their final showcase is tomorrow at 6:00pm on the Shea's Buffalo Stage. Don't miss it!

Last Saturday, we concluded our very first year of The STAGE (The Student Talent and Growth Experience). We could not be more THRILLED with how the week went. The talent and support of these 16 semi-finalists was an absolute joy to witness! The 8 finalists and 2 winners will be announced at the Shea's High School Musical Theatre Awards ceremony on Saturday, May 25th, 2024. Congratulations to all involved!
On Friday, we were so glad to offer a Shrek the Musical Dance Masterclass led by cast member Casey Lamont! Thank you Casey for dedicating your time to these young performers and we hope you have a blast on the rest of the tour!
Congratulations to our phenomenally talented staff members on their Artie Award Nominations! Alejandro Gómez, our Lead Teaching Artist, received a nomination for Outstanding Leading Actor in a Play for his performance as Roan in BLOOM. Jake Grear, our Arts Education Coordinator, was in the Ensemble of KINKY BOOTS which received 7 nominations, including Outstanding Production of a Musical. We are so honored to work with these wonderful individuals!

This year, 20 schools across Western New York, are part of our Sheas Musical Theater Awards Program. We are so proud of the work being done. A few more slots remain for Sing Your Story 2024! In this camp, students will use a song of their choice to explore their unique life experience to create a connecting monologue and Sing Their Story! Students will devise their own ideas, lighting, and costumes leading to a personalized performance where they are the STAR and cultiminate in a showcase on the Shea's 710 Mainstage open to the community. Ages 10-17. This camp will be led by Alejandro Gomez and Alex Garcia! Register in the link in our bio or on our website!
