A wonderful family from Alabama stayed at Blue Tin Ranch last night. They left a nice note that ended with this passage from 1 Peter. It's a good reminder that welcoming guests from around the country and even the world is a calling in itself. Also last night, a beautiful family from Ohio stayed in the chicken coop and commented how they knew from our pictures and personal story that they would be welcome here. An opportunity to say again, we do welcome everyone 💙💙

As many of you know, a storm severely damaged our family’s 115-year-old event barn on Monday. It’s been heartbreaking to lose something that’s held so many of our memories; and yours, too.

We’ve been overwhelmed by the love, support, and helping hands that have already shown up. Friends, neighbors, and even strangers have brought their time, tools, and chainsaws without hesitation. We can’t thank you enough.(Progress pictures included!)

For those who’ve asked how to help, but aren’t able to join us in person, we’ve set up a GoFundMe to help with the cost of deductibles and rebuilding things not covered by insurance. We’re doing our best to bring the barn back to life the way it was: classic, charming, and made to last another hundred years.

Every little bit helps, and even just sharing this means the world to us. Thank you to those who have donated already

Blue Tin Ranch took a direct hit from a tornado late this afternoon. We are heartbroken to see so much damage. Everyone is ok and we are determined to build back and make our farm even prettier. Thank you isn't enough to say to everyone who has already helped and has pledged to help more tomorrow. The sun will come out and everything will be ok. More photos and videos to be posted tomorrow.

A multicultural weekend for us! The annual Wacipi at USD on Saturday night was an awesome and very colorful event. Today we hosted a dinner of koushery authentically made by our guest from Egypt-Qatar. We were joined by folks from Bangladesh, India, Kuwait, Palestine, Ghana, S Africa, Dubai, Ethiopia and Nepal. The day ended with a ceremonial planting of an apple tree, which Blue Tin Ranch will treasure always!
