Our thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbors at Scotty’s restaurant. As you can see, they have experienced a very, very heavy tragedy. I’m not sure how much Lisa’s was impacted. Please keep these local business owners in your thoughts during this very difficult time. Lapeer at Belsay roads, south bound, are closed during this time.

ℹ️ Tuesday's Floral Tidbit ℹ️ - Marigolds:
Thought to symbolize purity, positivity, love, and a connection between life and death in many cultures throughout time.
It is an annual plant.
One of October’s birth flowers. ♎️♏️
Enjoys full sun all day long & grows best in fertile, well-draining soil, but will grow in almost any soil.
Around 50 species in beautiful, bright autumn colors that range in height from 12 inches to 4 feet. However, they are often kept shorter for use as edging in landscaping and flower beds as they are a wonderful natural pest repellent.
🐶🚫But don’t plant them where pets can potentially ingest them as they can be mildly toxic.
Best planted in early spring AFTER the threat of frost.
🪷They bloom rather quickly, in about 8️⃣ weeks.
Once your plants are established you can “top” them ✂️(cut off the blooms) to encourage bushier growth and more blooms. This can be repeated when blooms begin to die off (called deadheading) to encourage new blooms through the fall season.
Use cut tops for use in home décor or crafts.
