Hopefully our friends in Jackson, Mississippi are okay. We do a cheer comp for Varsity each year at the convention center.

Yes, that’s a tree that has sliced through a home here in Jackson, Mississippi. Thank goodness this family was not hurt and were able to crawl out of a window. It only took a 60 mph wind gust to do this.

One of the biggest killers in thunderstorms: TREES.

Something you can do right now to keep your family safe, look around your home and see if any of the trees could fall into your house. If so, consider options to insure that won’t happen. If you rent, make sure your landlord is aware.

We see so many tree into home/car deaths each year. So glad that didn’t happen here. Also imperative to have NOAA weather radio that can wake you in the middle of the night when a storm approaches.

As we walk away from this event, thunderstorms are plowing through the southeast. Long spring and summer ahead - stay safe all!
