Hey friends, dont mind me just sharing a few film scans from our recent Colorado trip. I'm a little obsessed with some of the color variations and imperfections in the film like that rainbow on the water of Lake Haiyaha that appeared in the developing process.

I have my last official day of working today before the year is up because tomorrow is surgery day! I'm a little anxious, but I'm looking forward to a year full of weddings and elopements starting in February (fingers crossed without the constant pain this year had). And since I have some downtime ahead of me, I'm looking forward to sharing so many more of the beautiful things I was honored to photograph this year!

I've been slacking on sharing all of the gorgeous people I've been honored to photograph lately! I mean, how has it already been a week and a half since this amazing afternoon in Rocky Mountain National Park with Marilia and Peter, and I haven't shared a peek with you guys yet?!

We were lucky enough to get a stunning day for October in RMNP (really, our whole week we visited was such nice weather) and even had some fall colors still holding on!

It was so much fun to get to hang out with the sweetest couple and photograph their after wedding session, which is honestly one of my favorite things to do. You get all the joy of getting dressed up and being newlyweds without the stress and nerves of your wedding day.

Will I ever get over Mae and Mikey's engagement session? Probably not.
It was hot and humid and buggy between the forest and the waterfall, but we had an absolute blast, I can't wait for their wedding!

To me, I see two souls so beautifully in love who share a passion for traveling and exploring together and fell in love with the scenery of Big Bend. Tenisha and Mason chose to elope together in one of their favorite places before celebrating with their family back home, and I was honored that they chose me to capture this incredible day.

Some of you guys know I've been on a love-hate learning journey with film. It feels like everytime I drop off rolls I'm crossing my fingers and hoping at least something looks good, so imagine my surprise when I got these film scans back and was in love with these shots of Barr Mansion straight out of camera.
It only took a year and countless rolls of trial and error plus some bum cameras to finally find my favorite film and camera combo.

A few moments on film from Tenisha and Mason's intimate elopement in Big Bend, it never fails to impress me how much nostalgia film adds to the moment.

For this sweet couple's elopement, I had the absolute pleasure of working next to my own husband while he photographed film, and I did digital.

That means I have a digital and film version of a lot of my favorite photos (which doesn't happen every day) and it's fun to see.

Let's talk photography trends...

I'm not one to follow the trends, but I am one to do experimental "artsy" shots and then follow it up with a "traditional" option.

As a creative, I love to see things in new ways and do fun shots that I think are beautiful, but as your photographer, I know how important this moment is.

Plus, you'll likely never be unhappy to get an artsy or trendy shot in your gallery, but you might be unhappy to not get a traditional portrait that'll remain timeless as trends come and go.

As a wedding photographer, of course, I love those first kiss photos, couples portraits, and detail shots.

BUT my absolute favorite photos from a wedding day are always the ones that capture those candid moments. Like when you're dancing your heart out at your reception, walking to your first look, laughing and sharing a cocktail after couples portraits, or your sweet flower girls holding hands going to explore the reception space.
