Bring joy to a nursing home elder by fulfilling their holiday wishes. Simply choose an angel, shop for their requested items, and help make their Christmas magical. The list is located at the Nursing Home, and we can help provide you with an Elder by commenting on this post or calling the Nursing Home at 662-628-6651. Items can be dropped off at the Nursing Home.

How to grow a Christmas cactus from cuttings, quickly and easily
1. Take Cuttings:
Select healthy stems and cut 2-5 segments (joints) using clean scissors.
2. Let Dry:
Place cuttings in a cool, dry spot for 24-48 hours to let the cut ends callous.
3. Prepare Potting Mix:
Use a well-draining cactus mix or a blend of potting soil, sand, and perlite. Fill small pots.
4. Plant the Cuttings:
(Optional) Dip cut ends in rooting hormone. Plant 1 inch deep in the soil with the calloused end down.
5. Water Lightly:
Water sparingly, keeping the soil slightly moist. Mist every few days.
6. Provide Light:
Place the pots in bright, indirect sunlight, avoiding direct sun. Keep temperatures around 70°F.
7. Wait for Roots:
In 2-4 weeks, the cuttings will root. Check by gently tugging on them.
