THIS is what racing is all about. This is our General Manager Randy Pettitt's son, Brandin Pettitt, who has Asperger Syndrome -- a high-functioning form of Autism

For many years, he has been my side-kick as we traveled the roads for me to work at the dozens and dozens of race tracks during my career. From Bowman Gray to the Ho***rs Pro Cup Series and everywhere between, he has been there through it all.

This young man has been around racing almost since the day he was born. He loves it. He has been helping us all year at Franklin County Speedway, working in both the cold and now the blazing heat -- gladly doing whatever dirty work needed to be done so we could open the doors and race.

He hopped in a 1997 Olds Cutlass and weaved his way through wrecks and all kinds of chaos to a top five finish in the Any Car Division. It was his very first race ever. Needless to say, I am so proud of this guy. Thanks to Wh**ey Taylor for giving him (and me) a chance to do what we love -- to go racing.
