the past 2 days in the life of a venue owner ….
Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking with one of our upcoming September brides. We were both excited to catch up on the plans they’ve made, answer questions and touch base as their wedding day approaches. The happiness and good energy from that call was infectious. When people reserve their venues a year or more in advance, there can be a lull in between the booking, the planning and the big day. Fill the lull with a phone call or a visit - it’s great fun to hear from you all !

Today was a fantastic office Friday to view the incredible photos I received from from S. & E.’s amazing wedding this past September. Wow, are these people & special moments captured to perfection !

Other than it being one of the very few wedding weekends in 2023 that it didn’t rain, their wedding was delightful. I look forward to sharing more as I build out their wedding day story from start to finish in an upcoming gallery of real weddings on the website. While our 2023 wedding season isn’t finished yet, I am so grateful for the photos, thank you’s, and fabulous reviews that continue to roll in.

It’s been 15 years of celebrating here at the Barn at Boyden Farm. So many memories and wonderful people. Experiences, lessons learned, love, laughter, hard work and tears, too. Vermont is gorgeous & an amazing place to celebrate your most special occasions !

Since the flooding in early July & what feels like never ending rain in Vermont this season, our hearts are with those who have lost so much recently. A good portion of our very own Boyden Farm field crops are destroyed however people in our community have lost their homes, cars, businesses. We will harvest what we can, replant in the spring and carry on. We want to help others at this time.

If you live in Vermont or are considering Vermont as your wedding destination location, come and visit our beautiful property this weekend; July 22 & 23 for a property tour. We will be onsite at the Barn at Boyden Farm from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. You can bring a picnic, enjoy the patio, wander the grounds, take your engagement photos 😉 but please make a donation to our fellow Vermonters. If you decide the Barn at Boyden Farm is the right fit for your celebration we will make a donation from the proceeds of your reservation. We want to help as many people in our community carry on. Will you help us by visiting this weekend ?!

& beyond !

For as many weddings as we have hosted here at Boyden Farm in the past 15 years, the very first wedding I had the joy of planning was mine & my farmers. We chose our July date since we love summer. July 16 is perfect - between first and second cut of haying in the farming world. Our guest list was long with so many relatives and friends to invite. A band was a must, all of our favorite foods served in stations, family style was perfect and seems unique for way back then.

As we celebrate 29 years of marriage, we are ever so proud of our 3 daughters and grateful for all that we have accomplished here at our historic family farm. As the years pass even more quickly it seems than before, we promise to continue loving unconditionally, do our best to be our authentic selves, carry on with our hard work and graciousness here at Boyden Farm & live each day to the fullest.

If you have a favorite wedding date chosen and wish to celebrate at the Barn at Boyden Farm, now is the time to visit with us. We are excited to hear about your celebration and look forward to adding your story to our many years of love.

Thank you, Vermont
for reminding us that rainy days are filled with just as much love, beauty and happiness if not more than sunshine days.

C & J fully embraced their wedding day moments - rain & all. First look photographs, cocktail hour maple ice cream cones and outdoor mingling in between all of the rain drops.

During their lovely indoor ceremony, the officiant asked for any born & raised Vermonters to raise their hands. There were (2) ! All other guests had traveled great distances to attend C & J’s Vermont wedding; they too traveled from Colorado.

Vermont is a very special place for so many people to live, visit, and revisit. Those of us who live and work here as well as couples such as C & J who went to school here, hike, ski or spend summers here; we all have spent time in the beautiful places throughout our amazing green mountain state.

Sharing our Vermont family farm property with all of you this weekend has been a pleasure and honor. Realizing we have friends in common, conversations with your guests and vendors about the history of our farm, - a truly wonderful time of everlasting memories.

Congratulations to you all at this incredibly special time. Thank you for choosing the Barn at Boyden Farm & our local area to celebrate your Vermont wedding weekend.
