Oh what fun🎄🐴

It's beginning to look a lot like the holiday season here in Camden, starting Thursday evening with the annual tree lighting ceremony at Broad Street Park, followed by the "It's a Wonderful Life" live radio play at Arts Center of Kershaw County. Friday is a shopping day, starting with the Gypsy Jingle Mingle, lots of great sales at other local merchants, and the Three Sisters Essentials - Local Grassroots Market Holiday Market Friday evening. Saturday, get up and at em for the annual Country Christmas Shopping at Old McCaskills Farm, Christmas Wonderland in the Downtown Camden Cultural District, and even a meet and greet with the Grinch at Revolution Nutrition SC. There's live music to be found this weekend, as well, including a special holiday fundraiser with Tombfield Road at Gallery 537 on Friday night. Get in the spirit!

🎉🎉 I know it’s late…but I’m keeping my promise! Palmetto Classic Open Horse Show Superlatives, as chosen by my niece and nephew, are here!

I want to tell you that they wish everyone could have been “winners,” because they had a great time at the show and thought there were so many kind, positive people.

We’ll talk about some takeaways from their view later this week, but for now, here are your winners, clockwise from the top left. Barring sportsmanship, the kids chose their own categories, by the way.

🥳 Best turnout: Zoie Sitton-they loved her derby coat and her horse’s nice braids!

🎉 Most smiles: Sarah Gallashaw-she always appeared to be having the best time with her horse, Raven!

🍾 Sportsmanship: They thought there were so many contenders for this one, but landed on Maegan Latham. Not only was Maegan (like many) kind and encouraging to Haddy, the kids thought her overall interaction with other exhibitors and her horse set a great example.

🍑 Biggest B***y (on a horse! 🤣): Jodi Belinski’s big, sweet draft girl. Harvey was very amused by this category, as you might imagine lol.

⭐️ Perseverance: Angeline Faulling Berry-Even though she was showing a young horse and things didn’t always go exactly as planned, she never got upset with her horse and she kept going back out and trying again.

Last, but not least…

🤠The Yippee Ki-Yay Award: Mr. Don-Rhubarb had himself a moment at the tail end of the veterans’ class, but Mr. Don took it all in stride like the cowboy he is. 10/10 excitement and impressive factor for the kids, lol.
