Our Story

Opened in 1894 and on the National Register of Historic Places, The Camden Opera House is a 500-seat auditorium, including three conference and meeting rooms, which is owned, managed, and supported by the Town of Camden Maine. It serves residents of all ages by hosting a wide range and variety of performances, concerts, theatre, national and international conferences, and other events. Annually, the Opera House hosts over 28,000 patrons. With over 120 years of service to the community, we are invested in the cultural vibrancy of our community and see the Opera House as a mainspring in the advancement of a vibrant Downtown area.
