Healthy Hive Sounds of Spring 🐝❤️ Yes, the sun is shining & the bees are in rapid increasing mode. This is a very healthy sign of a building hive population:). Each hive in our apiary has its own rhythm. Some are building fast and a few are slower, yet still active..this is my "bee therapy". The sound & experience of beekeeping is an incredible gift to the senses 🍀❤️🍀 lucky me to have found this secret to life! AKA cleansing flights are something I watch for on every hive. Possibly the easiest swarm capture for me:) It figures that the one large hive I forgot to split would decide to "bon voyage" this morning 🌄. Following the sound of bees, I was able to scramble a new hive set up under the mother hive. After scooping up glove fulls of bees I think I may have found the queen. She is small & not super remarkable today, not a judgement actually, more a notation of her age. Feeding the bees a honey frame - mild frenzy! Well it happened. A hive full of honey, yet no bees to speak of. I decided to give back a frame to all the bees.
