So much fun with this adventurous couple!!! They were totally game for meeting me at smith rock after my annual Friendsgiving sun river vacation! I was worried it would be rainy, windy and cold but it turned out perfect!!!! and I cannot wait for your wedding day! You guys are so much fun to be around ❤️❤️❤️

I asked my husband to dip me on a cliff under an arch. I’m a photographer, I like pretty pictures in pretty places with those I love, it’s my thing and my husband shows up. As we leave the line of people waiting to take photos, a guy with his family says jokingly “I told my wife that we’ve been married 20 years so there’s no way I’m dipping you!”
Awe come on now…. Is what goes on in my photographer brain. If you’ve been on a family session with me you know I try to always cut out some time for parents and yes I usually try to add kissy pictures too. Why is it so important to me you may ask? It’s for the kids.

I strive to live my life how I want my kids to live theirs. I want them to be loved and feel loved. I want them to show up for their spouses and to receive that in return. I believe one of the best things you can do for your kids is to show them what healthy relationships look and feel like!

This does not mean everyone has to dip their spouses on the side of a cliff! 😂 it means you can’t use the excuse we’ve been married for x amount of years to not show up for your spouse! Dan and I have gone out to eat without kids one time in 2023 even though we have a high schooler. It’s just not our thing. We would rather go on runs or walks or coffee dates. What I’m saying is that there are a million of different ways to show up for your spouse and your kids are learning from you. They are learning how to treat people they love and how to be treated. It’s an important lesson.
