Calling all film lovers! 🎟🎟🎬📽🎞📽🎞🎬🎟🎟
The South Arts Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers is back!
Join us Sunday, November 17 at 2pm for Family Tree. 🌳🌳🌳
Family Tree explores sustainable forestry in North Carolina through the stories of two Black families fighting to preserve their land and legacy. Family Tree's cinéma vérité approach reveals the vast task of maintaining the land while navigating challenging family dynamics, unscrupulous developers, and changing environmental needs. The forest itself and the beauty of its changing seasons become a primary character in this family drama.

Filmed over ten years, LIFT follows Steven Melendez, a ballet dancer performing all over the world, now returning to the Bronx shelter he grew up in and ready to give back to his community. Through a New York Theatre Ballet workshop, he goes on an unexpected journey to reckon with a past he had escaped from through ballet. LIFT shines a spotlight on the invisible story of homelessness in America through the eyes of a group of young homeless and home-insecure ballet dancers, and shows just how powerful the arts can be.
Director and Producer David Robinson will be in attendance, alongside Mary Recine (Producer) and Steven Melendez (Protagonist), joining us for a panel discussion moderated by Peaberry Film Festival founder, Brent Lambert-Zaffino.
Please RSVP to [email protected] for complimentary tickets!
