Yes. Every dahlia we grow has to get dressed and undressed this year. #grasshopperinfestation and #earwigs Grasshoppers eat the young buds and petals and the earwigs do the same. This where our flowers come from :) This is the irrigation diversion box that we share with four other neighbors. Water only flows here if we order water and we can only order water if we have share days, a certain amount of days comes with each water right. Water is always on our mind and we are very aware of how much we have how much we use. Glad to have it flowing this week!

I love it this time of year. It’s really the beginning of the 2022 garden and time for starting over. When I was a kid I can remember loving this time of year too. My mom would take time off work, put on her favorite records and we would clean the house! Dust, vacuum, clean windows and decorate. The house felt so good. It was time to clean out some beds in the high tunnel so I thought I’d keep with tradition. Here Carole King sings to me as I ‘flip’ beds to cold hardy veggies (@hilbermartin mache!) . And now that the 2021 season is over maybe it’s time to finish the story? Where were we….? Ah yes, everything died and I hired @planttoprofit_farmerellen to help me figure things out and she said…
