The Cat

The Cat In 2009, after a 30-year hiatus, Will Wood reentered the world of theatre.
(17)

The vision of The Cat is to be the "Off-Off-Broadway" of Carmel Indiana, giving the artists of Carmel a local, welcoming, and affordable place to play; and giving audiences an affordable place to be entertained. Since then, he has assistant directed, directed, or produced nearly 20 theatrical productions in Central Indiana. Late in 2016, Will found himself with a chance to direct a little Cole Por

ter musical (You Never Know—that's ok, nobody else has heard of it either!). Although without a theatre company attached to the production, rehearsal and performance space wasn’t available (not at an affordable price, anyway). In the pursuit of finding a home for this production, Will Wood and his wife and business partner, Deborah Wood, found the perfect space: a 60-year-old building on the South end of Carmel’s Arts & Design District. With this space, they realized that there was much more to offer than just a home for Will’s next production. By signing the lease, Will would have the opportunity to fulfill a life-long dream of operating his own community theatre. The new theatrical venue, The Cat, offers residency for theatre companies and is available for artistic events, classes, recitals, and private gatherings. The Cat aspires to be the “Off-Off-Broadway” of Carmel, Indiana - enriching the Carmel Arts and Design District by giving local artists a welcoming, affordable place to play, create, and perform.

Do you have your tickets????

The place is New York City, the time is the 1990s. Middle-aged, upper-middle class Greg finds Sylvia, a dog (played by a human), in the park and takes a liking to her. He brings her back to the empty nest he shares with Kate. When Kate gets home, she reacts very negatively to Sylvia and wants her gone.

Meet the cast of Sylvia presented by The Village Theatre!

Andrea Odle (Kate) is beaming with pride over this production of Sylvia. Some of her favorite acting roles include Rizzo in Grease, Simba in The Lion King, Mary in It’s a Wonderful Life, R.V. in Middle Aged White Guys, and Emily in My Three Angels. Some notable directing ventures: Sweeney Todd (Basile Westfield Playhouse), Almost, Maine (Mud Creek Players), White Christmas (Basile Westfield Playhouse), and The Great Gatsby (The Belfry Theatre). She would like to thank her very supportive family (especially Mason, her on-stage and off-stage husband) for always entertaining her theatre obsession, and her sincerest gratitude to her fellow cast members and her incomparable director Larry Adams. Andrea knows you will enjoy this show and as always, thank you for supporting local theatre!
