Our favorite veteran, my dad. Vietnam veteran turned custom home builder turned five star dad. Went at the age of 19 with a platoon of 52, came home with 12.
2 Purple Hearts.
1 heart for Jesus.
He doesn’t feel sorry for himself, dwell on it, or want recognition (although I do hope he enjoys a free donut today) but felt that it was his duty to serve his country. Despite it all, he is the poster child for the American dream. His work ethic, core values, and attitude are unmatched. We love you Bob Oliver! You’re a real gem. Also I can’t stop looking at your belt buckle being off center but my guess is you had bigger fish to fry. 🇺🇸 ❤️ 💙

We’ve got some very exciting (and maybe a bit surprising) things ahead! We decided yesterday we are going to refresh our retail space just in time for the holidays! Yep, new product, retail displays, and remember the personalized stationery while you wait? We’re bringing that back too.

Some things in life are timeless. A lost art. Write some notes. Send them in the mail. Texts and emails aren’t saved but letters are.

A holiday open house is in the works with .calligraphy that we’ve titled scripted + gifted. Save the date for Friday, 12/6. You won’t want to miss it! ✉️ 🖤 🖊️

High energy, fun-loving, and totally unforgettable—Ashlyn & Jacob’s late September wedding was one for the books. Dancing the night away they brought their love for movement and music to the dance floor. Their invites? A perfect reflection of their style—classic with a unique floral crest that gave a nod to Artisan Acres’s flower field. Caroline & Patrick’s wedding day was an absolute flower bomb—from ranunculus to roses & the sweet little delphinium. They wanted their wedding to feel like a classic European getaway. Starting with a painting of flowers, we took it from there with the invitation suite & it was flowers everywhere.

C&P’s love story started in 6th grade (you read that right) and their love continues in Chicago. This timeless couple got engaged before a Tyler Childers concert in NYC & danced to this song for their first dance. Happy married life you two!

It’s been a minute since I’ve introduced myself. I’m Kristyn, owner of Oliver’s Twist and co-owner of . Wife to , mom to Miles and Banks, sister to , and daughter of Bob and Becky. My mom and I started this business 18 years ago and we still have so. much. stinking. fun. Our clients become friends where there isn’t a day that goes by that someone doesn’t walk in and say “how’s Becky?” She likes to be behind the scenes these days tying ribbons on programs, cross checking spreadsheets, and doing the bookkeeping. Nevertheless, she makes owning a business a blast and always helps me keep it in check with her four Fs. Faith, family, fun, and fortune. If I get one of those out of order, she’s sure to let me know. 😉

We specialize in papers and branding for luxury weddings and events, both locally and destination. In recent years we’ve limited the number of events we take on, and it has really allowed us to tap into more of the details and connect with our clients on a more meaningful level.

To work with Lily and her mom Merilee on her wedding invitations was so fun. I had done Lily’s two older sister’s wedding invitations and during that time, Lily became our high school employee. She helped us open our City Center space (was a foil stamp queen for our grand opening) bringing so much positivity (and that smile!) to our days. We knew Lucas was around long term when Lily came back to visit and brought him in to meet us. 🥰
Congrats guys on pulling of such a beautiful wedding that was so reflective of your personalities and love!

A Little About Who We Are

We love paper and have the belief that a handwritten note is more meaningful now in the digital age than it ever was before. We also believe it can set the tone for an event like nothing else will. In 2006, we were both teachers in public schools. During my wedding, I started making my own paper goods. After I was married, I started making paper goods for friends weddings, then friends of friends. In the spring of 2007, Oliver's Twist was born. Chances are most days you will see one of us at the shop, now at Carmel City Center. We are blessed to be able to do this business together and have a lot of laughs along the way, as well as meeting some really really good people on a weekly basis.
