Hearty Salutations Humble Hero and Heroine Songwriters:
Most people don't pay attention to these invitations, or bother to read them. Some do and care enough to play along and pretend that the muses are real and communicating with us. So far nobody has told me to my face that I am nuts or hearing voices, they just keep it in their hearts. I'm glad, we don't need the negativity.

I don't know for a fact that the muses exist or that they communicate with us. But I have no choice but to believe and behave accordingly, it's the only way that the world make sense to me.

For example, I needed to make an invitation for this evening, and wondered what to say. Suddenly a message: Hey Arturo, song circle tonight? If there is, and if the muses have not reached out to you in discernible fashion, I have been busy co-creating new songs, so either CO-CREATED and/or NEW SONGS could be a theme for tonight. Regardless, hope to see you about 7pm.
And there we have it, a clear communication! So yes, they exist and love us and want to visit this evening, come and say hi!

The UCSB Middle East Ensemble is playing at the Alcazar theater in Carpinteria Sunday from 5-7pm. If you haven't seen them it is a spectacular show and we are so lucky to not have to drive to UCSB to see them. Tickets still available. You won't want to miss this. It is a sonic and visual feast! I have a new song that I would like to share this evening, so the muses are trying hard to prevent me from doing that, because it is not ready they say, you have to practice it, they say, you are going to mess it up, they say, we are not responsible they say.
So they asked me to request that no new songs be shared this evening, and then the quiet one whispered in my ear, how about asking that people share the songs they are reluctant to share, for whatever reason, Mount Zoom is a safe space, and that does not mean a space to share safe songs, but a space where you can be vulnerable and able to risk embarrassment without shame, or judgement. Receiving a supportive embrace no matter what. I saw them all laughing when I agreed, so I think they were using reverse psychology on me. So, come share this evening, fearlessly, see you soon.

We have spent many evenings sharing our songs, we have explored our songbooks from A to Z and through many filters and lenses, so the muses were not whispering their ideas loud enough for me to hear, so I asked Joe Peters to see if he had heard from them and sure enough, he had been thinking about this season of change and he suggested we share songs about change in seasons or change in general. I think that is a great idea and the muses agree. So here is your invitation for this evening. There is a lot going on here at the temple of song this week, new art show and a special concert this Saturday come if you live near, art reception " A Garland of Groovy Gifted Women" 4-6 with music at 6:00 by a few members of the Women of Song until 6:30 when Ray Duncan will play for us. Ray Duncan will be playing after the reception of our next art show at the Palm Loft Gallery ~ Carpinteria, CA. The show A Garland of Groovy Gifted Women will be immediately followed by a 30 minute set from my friends, the Women of Song. This is what Ray posted about her trip to California from Nashville Tennessee, where she now resides:

I'm coming home at the end of the month for a much needed visit, and I've even got a couple shows peppered in for fun...will be posting more info about each individual show as we get a little closer. I am also still looking for one more gig for Ranchers for Peace on the Central Coast on either 10/5 or 10/6....can we make that happen?? 👀 CA friends holler at meeee 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻 I can't wait to see you all!!!

Tomorrow is the second Saturday of the month and you are invited to a song circle at the Palm Loft Gallery. We are hoping to have a maximum of 12 songwriters join live 5 to 7 PM early enough for those who don't want to stay out too late. A vegetable lasagna will be served, you are welcome to bring food if you like, but we should have enough. Bring your songs and instruments. We have guitar and music stands. Let me know if you intend on coming please. Looking forward to these live song circles again. Every second Saturday if people show up. The Zoom Circles will continue every week at 7 PM.
