The Poster Guys

The Poster Guys The Poster Guys Method It's not how many posters you put up. It's where you put them and how they look. We charge $50 per 100 posters and half price to musicians.

Any idiot can put up 100 flyers on 100 phone poles in a row but then the same 20 people are seeing some same poster 100 times. We go to 100 strategically placed locations so that thousands of people see the poster. We have been doing this for so long we see it as an art form and we take the time to keep the boards neat. We can do 100 in each town (Durham and Chapel Hill). You can leave posters at

102 Old Pittsboro Road(see map) by Saturday and we will start posting them Sunday morning. Our drop off and pickup point in Durham is Regulator Books on 9th street. We post Durham on Wednesday. See www.theposterguys.com for more information.

LEARN CHINESE FOR FREE Summer 2022:
www.dllc.appstate.edu/undergraduate/startalk
The APPSTATE-STARTALK Student program includes 60-hour pre-camp and 30-hour post-camp virtual activities and a three-week, residential, immersive program from July 11 to July 29, 2022.
We plan to enroll 30 rising 11th-14th students (rising high school juniors and seniors and college freshmen and sophomores) with previous education in Chinese and/or at Novice-Mid/High level from the universities and colleges in the High Country, where Appalachian State University is located, and its surrounding Southern Appalachian region, especially Western North Carolina and East Tennessee.
Our program is designed to be equivalent to three semesters of high school/college foreign language classes (180 instructional hours and 180 co-curricular in-language cultural activity hours).
Its goals are to assist our students to reach the proficiency level of Intermediate Mid/High.
The immersive program will use a standards-based, student-centered, backward-designed and technology-integrated curriculum.
The highly structured theme- and task-based program will focus on the theme “The High Country Meets the Middle Kingdom” and aim to give students an authentic insight into modern day China by embarking on a virtual journey to Beijing.
Students will explore many aspects of the Chinese culture starting with an imaginary arrival at the Beijing Airport, visiting a local Beijing family, making friends at a Beijing high school, dinning at a Peking Duck restaurant, shopping at the Silk Market, and visiting local sites of historic and cultural significance, such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.
Furthermore, students will learn to inform, explain, persuade, describe, and narrate on a variety of topics on their travel and cultural experiences in Beijing.
Students will also participate in a series of cultural workshops, such as guest lectures on aspects of Chinese culture and hands-on activities, including Chinese martial arts (Tai Chi), calligraphy, painting, paper cutting/crafts, singing, dancing, film viewing, etc.
The APPSTATE-STARTALK Student program is a year-round community-building initiative designed to improve students’ knowledge of Chinese language and culture.
More importantly, the program will support students in future learning and career goals by equipping them with the language skills and experience to use in the professional world.

Jonathan Butler / Avery Sunshine

Jonathan Butler is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who leads a life few can imagine.
Born in South Africa under the shadow of apartheid and raised in poverty, Butler was the first Black artist to be played on white South African radio and to appear on national television.
Though his musical abilities would take him away from the world he grew up in, he would neither forget the plight of his fellow South Africans nor the man that led them to freedom.
It is for this reason the late Nelson Mandela credited Butler’s music as having inspired him during his imprisonment.
Butler’s first single won the South African equivalent to a Grammy. His commitment to his craft came to fruition with his self-titled debut album, which received a Grammy nomination for the pop hit “Lies.”
The instrumental “Going Home” earned him another Grammy nomination, and the mid-tempo ballad “Sarah, Sarah” confirmed Butler’s place in popular music.
Avery Sunshine takes no detours in creating melodious music for the masses.
She makes the kind of music that undeniably satisfies the soul.
Her sound is uplifting, vibrant, and exactly as her namesake suggests, full of sunshine.
She brings people together through her riveting stage performances, candid and often humorous stage banter, and optimistic anthems about love and life.
Most known for the #1 Billboard chart hit single “Call My Name” from her critically heralded sophomore project The Sunroom, Avery and her creative life partner, Dana “Big Dane” Johnson, were awarded ASCAP’s Rhythm and Soul Song of the Year Award.
