Crafty Neighbor

Crafty Neighbor We're Crafty Neighbor! We plan activities to bring crafters together to have a really fun time, both in person and virtually.

We fully support local scrapbooking stores, retreats, and paper-crafting businesses. Join us and be a Crafty Neighbor, too! Crafty Neighbor was formed in the summer of 2003 when then neighbors Stephanie McIntosh and Cindy Murray decided they wanted to sell products on the internet to make a little extra spending money. After a great deal of discussion and extensive product testing, the pair came o

ut with their first two products: bath soaps and dog biscuits. The product line was expanded in 2006 with the addition of scrapbooking supplies, and again in 2007 when they began organizing crops and retreats. Eventually, the dog biscuits were dropped from the product line and more kinds of products were added. Crafty Neighbor now carries a small sampling of handmade items and scrapbooking supplies, but our main focus is on crops, retreats, and scrapbooking cruises. It is our goal to bring more people together to help support the local paper-crafting community and the industry as a whole. Over the years, the personnel have changed as well. Christen Murray joined the team as an associate in 2007, and we have been blessed to partner with a number of other very talented artists who have helped us organize, coordinate, and teach at many different events. Our biggest change came in 2010 when founding partner, Stephanie McIntosh, opted to leave the company to pursue other interests, leaving Cindy as the sole proprietor of Crafty Neighbor. While her leadership will be missed, Stephanie will still remain with the company as an associate for many of our special projects and events. Crafty Neighbor is a partnership of women formed to support and promote the arts, crafts, and endeavors of women. It is our goal to encourage other women to explore their creative potential and to harness the talents and qualities that makes each of us unique. We are always open to new products and suggestions. If you have something special that you think you could offer to Crafty Neighbor by way of merchandise or skills, please feel free to contact us. Crafty Neighbor is a proud member of the Busy Chicks -- a North Texas Scrapbooking Business Networking Group. Look for us on Facebook under the name "Busy Chicks".

We finally have electricity again (for the moment) after last night’s storms. The first photo is the Lace Bark Elm next to the house which lost some large branches. You can see my beloved Chinese Pistachio in the background. There’s a better view of the damage it sustained in the next photo. I don’t know if it will survive. Then we have pictures of the dumpsters that got blown around ( one all the way down the alley) and the damage to my neighbors’ fences and gates. I lost a few bricks off the fireplace and some flashing/trim on the west side of the house, too. It looks like this all over Carrollton and Plano. Broken trees and fences. Roofs ripped to shreds. We are grateful to be safe and no real damage to hearth and home. 🙏🏻

Thank you to the spamming jerk who email bombed me this morning. I hope those thousands of emails your little bot sent to me will come back around someday to fill up your inbox 10-fold. Oh and thank you Spectrum for your crappy internet service that has been going in and out all weekend. I think it’s time for a change!

Not the professional photos, obviously, but I wanted to share some of the snaps I took at Amber Jones and Jason Jones wedding this past weekend. Pictures do not adequately capture how beautiful the bride and venue were on this magical day. I'm quite proud of what we were able to accomplish!

Our Story

Crafty Neighbor was formed in the summer of 2003 when then neighbors Stephanie McIntosh and Cindy Murray decided they wanted to sell products on the internet to make a little extra spending money. After a great deal of discussion and extensive product testing, the pair came out with their first two products: bath soaps and dog biscuits. The product line was expanded in 2006 with the addition of scrapbooking supplies, and again in 2007 when they began organizing crops and retreats. Eventually, the dog biscuits were dropped from the product line and more kinds of products were added. Crafty Neighbor now carries a small sampling of handmade items and scrapbooking supplies through our Etsy.com website, but our main focus is on crops, retreats, and scrapbooking cruises. It is our goal to bring more people together to help support the local paper-crafting community and the crafting industry as a whole. While her leadership will be missed, Stephanie is still with us in heart and will remain with the company as an associate for many of our special projects and events. Crafty Neighbor is a partnership of women formed to support and promote the arts, crafts, and endeavors of women. It is our goal to encourage other women to explore their creative potential and to harness the talents and qualities that makes each of us unique. We are also dedicated to the support and growth of the craft industry as a whole, and hope to be a helpful resource of information and support to both crafters and craft businesses. We are always open to new ideas and suggestions. If you have something special that you think you could offer to Crafty Neighbor, please feel free to contact us.
