Good Morning Facebook Friends! So I'm pretty sure everyone's getting ready to freeze their buns off during the 1st Week of Winter! I almost feel bad telling you that we're going to miss it! I mean, who doesn't love a good excuse to stay indoors, drink hot cocoa, and eat tons of soup? But alas, here I am in Beautiful Puerto Vallarta, where the only thing I'm mourning is the lack of soup I would be making back home. I love making Soup for all of you so much!
My Little Family and I got up at the crack of dawn on New Year's Day and high-tailed it South of the Border. We were literally the 1st plane of the day to arrive in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, which meant customs was a breeze - 2 whole minutes! Now that's what I call a travel tip! If you arrive super early, customs is a piece of cake. Later in the day, it was taking people 2 to 3 hours to clear customs - yikes! You know we've been coming to Puerto Vallarta for 25 years now, and let me tell you, it never gets old. There's just something about this part of Mexico that feels like home. The minute we step out of the taxi and into the Lobby of Los Arcos, I'm like, "Tara, I'm home!" And let me tell you, it's decorated beautifully this week because of the Holidays. We've been staying at this Mexican Family-run Hotel for literally 25 years, and it's got a certain charm to it. It's old, it's a little dated, but it's got character. I mean, it was built in the 70's, but they've renovated it and updated it a lot over the past 5 years. We've got an incredible room, and while it's not the 5 ⭐️ huge resort experience, it's perfect for us. It's old, it's charming, it's small, and it's in the most perfect location in all of PV. I mean, we're talking steps to the beach, fabulous views, restaurants, shopping, and everything you could possibly need right out the door. We feel totally safe here, and we're often out till midnight walking around town. It's perfect for us for this type of vacation. And the best part? My cousin Lee Labrie from Santa Cruz met us again this year! Lee is my 1st
cousin, and we were born a whole 6 weeks apart so she is way older! Just kidding, she's not that much older! But seriously, we've been close our entire lives, and it's always special when we get to travel together. We've literally traveled the world together, and it's always a blast. So, we'll be here for another week, which is already making me sad. I wish we could spend the entire Winter down here. The weather is incredible every day - perfect 84 degrees, ocean breeze, cooler nights... it's truly a little piece of Paradise. So, we won't be doing Dinners to Go this week, but next week we'll be back, and I'll be very inspired by all the amazing food we're eating down here. PV is the culinary capital of Mexico, and if you're a foodie like us, this is a wonderful place to experience amazing restaurants. I mean, we're talking creative chefs from all over the world, and every type of food you can imagine. I'm going to share just a few pictures of what we've been eating, and let me tell you, we're trying to stay on the healthy side, so it’s not easy but we are eating lots of fish and Shrimp which of course is abundant here.
I will put the foodie stuff in the next post for those that like to follow along on my travel blogs!
So no meals this week but getting inspired for the New year!
Have a great week and stay warm!❤️🏖️🦐🌴🍋🌶️🌮🍤🍹🍸
