This flower, apricot impression tulip, in my opinion, is romantic, elegant, and unusual. I have been marveling over these flowers and their beauty all day. This is my first time growing them and they seem to be blooming early. Anyone else have tulips blooming? Leave a comment below and a picture of what's blooming in your garden. Tulip or other flowers!

In life, we have to try new things. Even if afraid? Especially then. If not, we never have a chance to fail and if we never fail, did we really reach our potential? So I have been working on learning all about growing flowers these last couple of months. And, I have jumped in at growing too. There have already been some fails, and I am certain there are MANY more to come. But, I am learning so much! It is absolutely fascinating to watch things grow from a tiny little seed. The first pic was my very first thing to bloom. Silene, blushing lanterns. They just made me smile and I will never forget her. Not as happy when I dropped a whole tray of baby snapdragon seedlings ... pretty much destroyed. Back to the drawing board. Look at the close-up of the tulip. Can you see how it has a little built-in cup to hold the water. I never even knew!
If you already knew, let me know in a comment below. Careful watch of things reveals so much. I guess that is true in gardening as well as many other areas of life. What are you trying new? Have you continued even if there was failure? If you failed, did you get back up? I would love to hear a gardening tip that you remember having learned that stuck with you. I've got lots to learn 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

Such a wonderful exhibit at the Booth Booth Western Art Museum. I purchased the book and have been moved time and time again by the stories corresponding to the portraits. It is connected to an incredible life-changing organization in Birmingham, Alabama.

Be sure to check out Portraits of Hope, now on display in the Borderlands Gallery. Portraits of Hope raises awareness of the difficulties women and their children face after incarceration, drug addiction, and domestic violence. The portraits in this exhibition are by well-known portrait artists, several of whom are from Georgia and the Southeast. Portraits of Hope will be on view through March 5 at the Booth Museum.

I have actually seen some daffodils already blooming in the woods behind my house. I am thinking even the flowers and plants don't know what to do with this crazy weather!! Google told me that they MAY bloom as early as mid February with a mild winter. Not sure that's how I would describe our winter! Have you seen any daffodils blooming near you? They can symbolize lots of things, such as: new beginnings, appreciation, respect, prosperity, honesty, and forgiveness. I wonder which of one of those, if any, my husband had in mind when he delivered them to my first classroom back before we were married. I still remember that moment well, though it was over 3 decades ago! Valentine's Day is coming soon!
