The New Frontier of Bartow County, Inc

The New Frontier of Bartow County, Inc Welcome to the New Frontier of Bartow County, Inc., a 501(c)3 civic organization based in Cartersville L. Kelley, (10) Theodore Kellogg, and (11) Walter A.

New Frontier of Bartow County, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, was first organized in 1961 by William “June” Roberson and established in 1962 with the goal of bettering Bartow County for all residents. New Frontier was founded during the “Civil Rights” movement under both professional and personal threat to the early “Frontiersmen” from those opposed to the advancement of African Americans.

Roberson, along with 10 other men that includes current active member, Arthur Carter, began donating their time, effort and resources to form an organization which would help the community of Bartow County. This group of men envisioned an organization which would bridge the gap and ease the transition from segregation to integration without destroying the community. The Founding Fathers were: (1) Arthur Carter, (2) William Roberson, (3) Elder Marvin O. Jones, (4) William Wade, (5) George Hendricks, Sr., (6) Eugene Dean, Sr., (7) Luther Jackson, (8) James Tinch, (9) Reverend L. Johnson, Sr. In the face of relentless oppression and unmerciful persecution, these true pioneers of the Bartow County Community, not only braved adversity of epic proportions, but persevered, flourished, and chartered a course that would promote racial harmony without losing “our” identity. In 1975, the organization purchased land near Cassville, GA, where its present facility is located. Twenty eight years later, the organization renovated and expanded the facility. The facility is now a major venue for community events. Today, the organization’s on-going projects include mentoring programs for young African-American males, academic scholarships, holiday gift card giveaways, Feed the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, and tutoring. In addition, each year the organization presents two fundraisers: The Walter A. Roast and The Justice Robert Benham Annual Golf Tournament. Our Mission: New Frontier empowers Bartow County residents through Leadership, Education, and Service. Our Vision: New Frontier collaborates with other Bartow County agencies/organizations/businesses to meet the needs of Bartow County Residents. Our Values: Inclusivity, Cooperation, Fairness, Unity, and Achievement

🍁 What an Incredible Day! Our 25th Annual Feed the Community Dinner Was a Success! 🍁

Today, we celebrated our 25th Annual Feed the Community Dinner, and we are overwhelmed with gratitude. This event is one of our favorite traditions, and seeing our community come together in such a powerful way reminds us why we do this work.

For the past week, our team has been working behind the scenes to prepare for a day that serves over 2,000 of our Bartow County neighbors. From organizing meals to coordinating deliveries and services, every moment was worth it.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many volunteers and community partners who showed up today. Because of you, families received hot meals, free haircuts, medical and benefits screenings, clothing, and so much more. Your generosity and spirit of service make this event possible year after year.

It’s days like this that show what can happen when a community stands together. ❤️

We are honored to serve Bartow County and grateful for everyone who helped make today such a special success.

Recently, the Cartersville Daily Tribune asked us when and why was the 25th Annual Feed the Community Dinner renamed in honor of Michael Dean. Well, in 2012, we chose to rename the dinner in honor of Michael Dean, a man whose generosity and compassion left a permanent mark on our organization. Frontiersman Michael wasn’t just a member or supporter, he was a driving force. He believed deeply that serving others was one of the greatest callings, and he worked tirelessly to bring people together through this event. By placing his name on the dinner, we ensure that his spirit of kindness, leadership, and commitment to the community lives on each year we gather.

Join us this Saturday, November 22nd, at the Cartersville Civic Center.
