Being a florist, always surrounded by blooms can sometimes dim the joy that flowers should bring. I promised myself I would always work to keep the joy I felt when I first fell in love with flowers.

The last Christmas arrangement will always be created for my enjoyment. Sometimes finding the joy in the season is doing something for yourself.

If you are needing last minute gift ideas (for yourself or someone else), flowers anytime of year is a good idea. Give the gift of flowers!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!

Local, local, local is talked a lot about especially by me. For almost 9 months I have sourced all of my stems from NC flower farmers. Now that we are entering the winter months that’s no longer an option.

I often get ask, “what do you do in the winter months?”. I don’t stop creating because we all need flowers in the coldest, gloomiest of days. Instead I dive deeper into the word “local”. I seek out the mom-and-pop wholesalers and farmers who are growing indoors or nearby states.

It’s so important to Bee Bloomin’ that supporting local stays at the forefront. Support local with me,
💛 Katelyn

In the darkest, most sorrowful moments of life flowers are needed.

The first time I remember talking to a florist was for my mom’s funeral. It makes sympathy arrangements extremely special to me. I feel a deeper connection when designing the flowers. Grief is the reason I love flowers, I put all of that love into my design.

Still holding onto the last of the NC blooms

Spreading happiness with local blooms!

Next week is likely the last week I will have ALL North Carolina blooms.

That being said I want to sell out last of season market next week. Help me do that by placing an order now. I promise once you go local you won’t go back.

Hello November! Goodbye Dahlia season. Or more like see you next year!

Instead of “goodbye” I prefer “see you later”

It is very likely that the local dahlia season is near the end… no worries they will be back next year and promise to always steal the show.

Taking in the seasons changing can really bring you a new feeling on life. As a florist we work with perishable goods. Recently more than once it has been described to me as we are the end of life care for fresh cut stems. This is deep for me! 💜💛

Life is way too short to not appreciate the change in seasons. The best way to do that is with fresh flowers.

I’m back!!

I spent the majority of my time off social media outside!

I picked pumpkins from the same farm I have for the past 9 years in Michigan and decorated my dad’s house with them. The goose 🪿 has been in my family for decades!

I wore my shirt from on the date of my mom passing. 🪽 Visited my mom’s church and donated flowers.

I purchased myself flowers for my birthday! And spent the day in the woods.

Took a trip up to the Upper Peninsula (UP). It was magical! The views and pine smell was breathtaking.

Thank you all for understanding my absence. I’m back with local blooms! 💐

Hello flower friends! Thank you all for being here and your continued support. I appreciate every one of you!

Even though social media is so important for small businesses I have decided to take the next few weeks away from it.

If you have been here awhile you know my flower journey began after losing my mom from a rare disease called Multiple System Atrophy. The 16th of October will be 7 years since we lost her. 💔 On the 17th it is my 37th birthday 🎂 and my 9th wedding anniversary 👰🏻‍♀️ so it’s the perfect time for me to step away for a little while.

I promise to be back with lots of flowers and share a little of what I do in my off time. Please don’t leave or unengage because I need you all to keep my small business bloomin’. Life is too short, buy the flowers, do the things you love, 💕 Katelyn

Today is a day of hope for few. As most people don’t even know the disease. I promised myself I would share Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) in hope that one day the sharing would lead to a cure. In hope that the ones who are affected by MSA will not feel alone. In hope that one day it won’t be a death sentence. I’m not sure that day will ever come yet here I am holding onto the hope.

No one wants to hear about the struggle and death that come with MSA. We live in a world where looking or reading that information is just too hard or it won’t happen to me. So if you made it this far thank you for making my efforts somewhat meaningful.

Today is World MSA Day, a day no one wants to be a part of, a day many will never know, a day I try to spread hope.

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare neurological disease that causes certain brain areas to deteriorate. Over time, this disrupts abilities and functions handled by those brain areas. This disease is ultimately fatal. MSA is a new term that combines features of three older condition names.

MSA took my mom. My mom’s love is the reason behind Bee Bloomin' Florist. I hope to spread awareness through the beauty of flowers with the grief I feel from the loss of my mom. Life’s too short, buy the flowers.

Beauty in the midst of grief. This arrangement was gifted to a woman who is currently fighting MSA.
