Oilfield Store is a small cafe housed in a one room school house built in 1866, boasting great hamburgers, other sandwiches, homemade pie and daily specials. April through mid December - Thursday 11-2, Friday 11-8 and Saturday 11-2. The first oil well was drilled in the late 1800's in this area. An oil boom during 1900-1930 established the town of Oilfield. Well known people visited and invested in this area during that time. Illinois became a top producer of oil in the nation.
