David Street Station To enrich the community and its visitors by offering a central gathering place!

Plazas are time-honored places around which whole neighborhoods and cities in every culture have developed. A movement is now afoot to re-establish public plazas as major destinations where civic life flourishes. During the summer months, enjoy the free splash pad for the kids, outdoor movies, picnics in the park, integrated vendor areas, farmers market, concert series and festivals. During the wi

nter months, enjoy ice skating, fire pits and warming stations, hot chocolate stands, tree lighting ceremony, winter festivals and holiday celebrations. During Downtown Festivals, enjoy all of the same benefits within David Street Station but opportunities to expand into the streets for larger festivals that include dueling performance stages, activity area for kids, and additional vendor space.

There's "snow" place else you should be than ice skating with us this weekend before we close for the season! 😀❄️⛸️ Admission and skate rentals are FREE, all thanks to Visit Casper and 5150' Local! We will be open today and tomorrow from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and Saturday - Sunday 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM!

📣 As our last day of operations this season is Sunday, January 12th, we want to remind our community why we don't stay open later into the winter:

We currently close our ice rink in January for several factors. After school break ends and school is back in session, our ice skating attendance drops significantly. The cost to keep the ice rink running far exceeds the revenue that is made during this time and therefore financially isn't feasible to stay open until a later date. For perspective, the rental fee for the industrial ice rink chillers are $24,000 per month, and these are what keeps the ice rink frozen and accessible for skating. The monthly utility bill is $6,000 to keep the chillers up and running, and it costs around $15,000 in additional expenses to set up the rink. Therefore, at this time we only rent the industrial chillers on a two month contract (during the holiday season).

We currently are working towards acquiring a permanent chiller, which would greatly reduce the overhead costs to get it up and running each season. But, the cost to purchase one is a big financial milestone that we hope to reach with the help of donors, sponsors, and the support of our community! Once we have a permanent chiller, we will evaluate extending the season and additional uses for the ice. As a reminder, we are a private nonprofit facility that operates through donations and sponsorships to bring free events to the community, and are not affiliated with the City of Casper nor receive tax payer dollars. We want to send a big birthday shoutout to Brooke! 🎈🎉 This place would not be as amazing as it is without her, her ideas, her work ethic and her joyful spirit! David Street Station is lucky to have her and we would be lost without her. She has branded this wonderful place with her beautiful photography and talents as a graphic designer. We would like to extend a big ❄️THANK YOU❄️ to the Wold Foundation for giving a meaningful donation to David Street Station! This funding went directly towards our ice rink chiller rental, which allowed us to operate our ice rink again this season from November 29th - January 12th (our last day). The generosity of this organization made it possible for our community members and visitors to enjoy a glide around the ice, and we are so grateful! ⛸️

SAVE THE DATE! 🎶🔥 We are STOKED to announce that Canaan Smith will be taking the stage as our headlining act at our 5150' Festival on Saturday, August 17th. His song “Love You Like That” is platinum selling, and has found its way to #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart. Smith’s high octane show has quickly earned his spot on some of country music’s biggest tours, including Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, and Florida Georgia Line.
