Five Strings Barn Concerts

Five Strings Barn Concerts We pride ourselves on creating and fostering an environment where music lovers can experience a live performance like no other!

A barn concert is an intimate gathering of friends and music lovers where the audience and musicians can interact more closely than in a normal concert venue. In order to create a respectful, quiet environment for the performers, we ask that no children under 12 years old attend the concert.

We're gearing up for our next barn concert on Saturday, March 9, which we are SO excited for!

Luke Bulla won the National Fiddle Contest (in Weiser, Idaho) six times in his respective age categories. His seventh win came in the Grand Champion division at age sixteen, making him the youngest to have earned the title at the time. Entering Nashville’s Grand Master Fiddle Championship at age ten, Luke distinguished himself by being the youngest person to have made the top ten.
He spent his early years in Tennessee playing fiddle in Ricky Skaggs’ band, Kentucky Thunder, which earned him his first Grammy Award.
Following the Skaggs stint, he became a member of the John Cowan Band. More recently Luke has performed and/or recorded with Brandi Carlile, Jim Lauderdale, Darrell Scott, Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, Bryan Sutton, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Russ Barenberg Trio, Shawn Colvin, Tony Rice, Chris Thile, Peter Rowan, Patty Griffin, Glen Phillips, Rodney Crowell, and Earl Scruggs, to name a few. Luke was also a perennial instructor at Mark O’Connor’s fiddle camps in his early Nashville years. In 2009, Lyle Lovett asked Luke to join his Large Band, with whom he toured full time until 2023. In addition to violin, Luke plays guitar and mandolin, and sings and writes songs.

This show is expected to fill up soon and you don't want to miss this one! Email me VERY soon at rachel(at)fivestringshouseconcerts.com to reserve your seats!

We can't wait to keep the music going with our first barn concert of the season on Saturday, February 25, 2023 with The Fretliners!
The Fretliners are a powerhouse progressive bluegrass quartet born around a single microphone in a barn in the Rocky Mountains. Influenced by a multitude of genres and steeped in that High Lonesome sound — they machete through the bluegrass and newgrass jungle leaving new pathways and possibilities in their wake.

Consisting of Tom Knowlton (formerly of Wood Belly) on guitar, Taylor Shuck (formerly of Wood Belly) on upright bass, Dan Andree (formerly of Chain Station/Henhouse Prowlers) on fiddle, and Sam Parks (Lonesome Days) on mandolin — these prolific pickers and singers have fluent musical conversations that beckon ears to eavesdrop and toes to tap. One can expect hard driving energy, face-melting solos, soaring vocals, and captivating lyrical stories interlaced throughout. Buckle up, because a Fretliners show is sure to take you for a ride you won’t soon forget!
