We are very pleased to announce our new Director of Percussion - Dr. Jed Blodgett!

"I am incredibly honored and grateful to join Southern Utah University as the Director of
Percussion. SUU has held a special place in my heart for many years, and my family and I are
thrilled to be part of this inspiring community. With a new music center on the horizon and
exciting new programs in commercial music, jazz, and the T-Bird Marching Band, SUU is
poised to become one of the premier arts hubs in the state and beyond. I am eager to bring my
passion and experience to this great institution as we continue guiding students towards artistic
and personal success.”
Jed Blodgett is a percussionist and educator from Kennewick, WA with a unique professional
portfolio. As a K-12 licensed educator he has pioneered curricula and programs for the Skaggs
Catholic Center, Utah Valley University, Hastings College, the Utah Percussive Arts Society, and
the Utah Music Educator’s Association. His performance credits range from the Utah and
Hastings Symphonies to the folkloric musics of Brazil and the Caribbean. He is an active artist
and clinician for drumset, marching percussion, orchestral percussion, commercial music, and
jazz. He has given performances and masterclasses at the Tippet Rise Arts Center, the Cathedral
of the Madeleine, the University of Florida, and the University of Hartford. He can be heard on
