In just two weeks, our production of Sophocles’ Antigone opens. The show will run February 16th-18th at 7:30pm, with a 2pm matinee on the 18th, in the SUU Blackbox. Tickets can be purchased at the auditorium box office for $5. We hope you are ready to see this powerful, greek tragedy! 🏛️🏺🎭

The semester has begun, which means it’s time for 24 Hour Theatre: Mythical Mashup! As always, prompts will be given to writers on Friday at 7pm. Their scenes will be rehearsed beginning at 8am on Saturday in the Blackbox, and later performed at 7pm in the Auditorium. This semester’s 24 Hr Theatre: “Running Up That Hill” is happening this weekend! 🎧🎉 If you have ever wanted to act, write, or direct, this is a fun way to get involved! “Hi! My name is Eliza Rose Greiner (she/her), and I will be serving as your Managing Director this year.
I’m originally from Altadena, California, and I’m a transfer student from RIT (I've been around the US a bit!) I originally studied American sign language interpreting (I’m still conversationally fluent!), but was drawn back to theatre and hospitality so I transferred here. I am now pursuing a double major, and I only have three semesters left here at SUU, so I intend to make them count! I guess my fun fact is that I’m late with my bio because I was visiting my grandfather in Switzerland until this Sunday! “Hello! My name is Austyn Jane and I use She/Her pronouns. I am the Production Manager for 2nd Studio this year, and I could not be more excited for our season to start! I am originally from Austin, Texas (the name is a coincidence) and I am a Junior in the BFA of Theatrical Design and Technology with emphases in Lighting and Sound Design. Some fun facts about me are that I love to sew and often make my own clothes, and I have an adorable kitten named Oliver who I go on walks with. I am so excited to see what the new season brings!”

“Hello all! My name is Olivia Jacobs (she/her) and I’m thrilled to be one of Second Studio’s Co-Marketing Directors this year AKA one of the people making these posts! I’m from Murray, Utah and will be a Junior at SUU this year. I’m double majoring in Theatre Education and Family Life & Human Development with a concentration in Early Childhood Development (so if you ever need me, you can probably find me doing homework at the library). Some fun facts about me are that I love playing old school Mario games even though I can’t play video games to save my life. I also have a one year old cat named Juni who is the best thing to ever happen to me. I’m super excited to get back on campus for all the fun activities we have planned! Go T-Birds!!”

I had the pleasure of being run crew for “Clue” and “Sweeney Todd” at the Utah Shakespeare Festival this summer, and I used to work as a scare actor in a local haunted house before coming to SUU!”

I’m originally from Salem, UT and am entering my third year at SUU as a BFA Musical Theatre major. Some facts about me are that I just started getting more involved in the Miss America Organization, in which I advocate for sexual assault awareness and prevention (shameless plug: ). Not only that, I am unapologetically obsessed with Harry Styles, so if I hear you talking about him, I’ll probably insert myself into the conversation. “Hello everyone! My name is Kolton Nielsen (he/him/his), and I will be serving as 2nd Studio's Artistic Director this school year! I am originally from Saratoga Springs, UT and went to Westlake High School (Go Thunder!), and now I am entering into my 3rd year here at SUU (Go Thunder...birds!). I am a Theatre Arts Education major and minoring in Arts Administration. Some fun and groovy things about me are that I'm a massive film nerd, so you can find me at the movie theatre on a regular basis. I also peed next to Mitt Romney during an intermission of Hamilton (no, I did not talk to him unfortunately), so I'm pretty famous. I am so excited to get to work on a LEGENDARY season this school year and I hope you join us for every show and activity!”
