What’s special about this place? Joyful Journey Hot Springs Spa is a peaceful oasis in the Sangre De Cristo mountains of the San Luis Valley. It’s not at all the most convenient location as it’s just under 4 hours drive from Denver and rather remote.

Before my first visit.. I spoke with a friend who had lived in the valley for some time. Speak with anyone who has lived in or visited this location and they will tell you that the energy is so incredible here.

Some of her words..

“I lived in and LOVE that valley with a fever. It's the least light polluted place in the country and star gazing is out of this world there. It's also a wildly energetically charged valley. Before contact it was a major major thuroughfar for international tribal trading and spiritual gatherings and holy places. It hold the oldest most treasured and sacred energies. It will always have so much of my heart and I only lived there half a year. It's a magical beautiful place. You're gonna love it.”

The spa is near Crestone, a spiritual mecca which is so cool to experience. We plan to visit some special sites including the Ziggurat, stuppa & MahaLakshmi Temple for a fire ceremony.

Hot springs are one of the most healing places I have found on my adventures so far. All of the soaking pools are filled with the natural, mineral-rich, geothermically heated water that rises in artisanal springs on the property.

And getting to wander the property in a robe.. and have healthy, fresh, delicious meals prepared is so wonderful.

SANCTUARY RETREAT is booked for April 14-17. Last years visit felt so long in such a wonderful way and was a perfect time for rest and rejuvenation.

All rooms will be released TOMORROW. We are 4 travellers short to make this retreat happen this year.
