This is a very well articulated interview and touches on some issues that hit home for me. I've spent more hours and $ than I like to admit escaping in video games to my own detriment. I see this as a recurring theme in my life with both x - girlfriend's and their kids, friends, and family wasting what little time we have on the planet escaping life instead of participating in it. If people spent the same amount of time grinding in life they spend marathoning tv series and movies, and playing video games, or at the bar ... insert your own escapism here - we could solve some problems and have a better life. Easier said than done, I'm working on self behavior modification to get better each day.

So the application of this could be: I stop watching tv series and commit to 2 hours a night painting the animals of leisure series and publish to youtube every few days.

The following could happen with consistent effort. I'd have close to 50+ paintings in the series. which could be photographed or scanned and added to a website and promoted to sell originals and prints. My skills painting would improve and systems for producing these pieces would improve. I'd get better at videography and storytelling. I could give to schools and other non profits some works to raise $$$ for them.

Outside of school, work/side hustles, and self care this will be my one thing.
