The Alliant Energy PowerHouse opened as the Five Seasons Center on January 25, 1979. All Facebook users are eligible for entry.

The Alliant Energy PowerHouse is a multipurpose facility which hosts many different events throughout the year such as family shows, ice shows, a rodeo, high school sporting events and concerts. Since it's opening, the PowerHouse has hosted such concerts as Kiss, George Thorogood, Alan Jackson, Def Leppard, George Strait, Cher, Nickelback, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Rod Stewart, Dolly Parton, and many

Are you looking for a little excitement in your job? Be a part of the exciting world of entertainment! VenuWorks of Cedar Rapids is seeking a full time professional for the position of Event and Operations Manager. This salaried management position will serve as a primary event planner for concerts, family shows, and sporting events across four venues including the Alliant Energy PowerHouse, the Paramount Theatre, the ImOn Ice Arena, and the McGrath Amphitheatre. VenuWorks operates in a dynamic environment in hosting premier national entertainment in these venues, and this position will be required to work assigned events taking place in the evenings and on weekends. This position will be primarily responsible for working with promoters, tour managers, community members, tournament organizers, contractors, internal departments, and other parties to bring both community and commercial touring entertainment to these venues. The Event and Operations Manager will also serve as the on-site representative for these clients and artists on the day of the show, with a focus on creating a welcoming environment and troubleshooting last minute details. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills to make sure all aspects of these events and concerts are planned well in advance of the show. Our Story

Built as the premier entertainment and convention facility in Eastern Iowa, the U.S. Cellular Center continues to host 190 event days a year including concerts, family shows, conventions, corporate meetings, sporting events, ice shows, rodeos, circuses and high school events. The facility is on the leading edge of bringing culturally rich, highly entertaining and visually stimulating events to the surrounding population.

Nestled in the densely populated corridor of Eastern Iowa, the U.S. Cellular Center draws event attendees from a population base of more than 1,000,000 people within a 100-mile radius. Event programming is carefully planned to appeal to a gamut of progressive tastes and traditional interests.

The U.S. Cellular Center opened as the Five Seasons Center on January 25, 1979. It was one portion of a three-part downtown project built in the late 1970’s that included the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel and Five Seasons Parkade. The project was funded through a newly created downtown TIF (tax-incremental finance) district and a bond issue.

After the flood of 2008, the facility closed for renovations in 2011. After 2 yrs of renovations and improvements the new U.S. Cellular Center Convention Center re-opened on June 1, 2013 with a sold-out concert by country megastars Lady Antebellum. The newly renovated complex now boasts an 9,000+ seat arena lined with concessions stands, 267 hotel rooms, 81,779 square feet of exhibit space, 12,359 square feet of ballroom space and 19,383 square feet of meeting room space.
