Cedar Springs Snow Bash
This Snowmobile Drag Racing event welcomes “TRAIL SLEDS” of all kinds, you do {NOT} need to have a pure drag racing Snowmobile to attend this event. The Snow racing surface will be constantly groomed to ensure a smooth and safe Snowmobile Drag Racing experience. Event details are as follows. The Cedar Springs Snow Bash 2017 will be held on December 15th & 16th at 13540 West Street Cedar Springs Michigan 49319 hours of operation will be Friday December 15th 2017 10am till 5pm E,S,T. and Saturday December 16th 2017 10am till 5pm E,S,T. This event will be weather permitting!!! We are trying to put together an early season Snowmobile Drag racing event so unless we have a minimum of 10” of Snow to work with the event will not happen. We will “NOT” convert to Grass Drag racing at this facility, the racing surface is grass growing in beach sand and unless we can produce a racing surface such as Hastings we will not waste your time. The Snowmobile drag racing style will be “Grudge Match” this form of racing is just like taking your vehicle to an automobile drag strip on a Test & Tune night. You simply take your snowmobile to the staging area and a nice person will sell you a track pass sticker at cost of $20.00 U,S,D. cash to be placed on your Snowmobile, when it is your turn to race you will proceed to the starting line and stage your snowmobile. The stage portion or R,T. reaction time of the race track is a distance of 16” you can tell if your Snowmobile is in the proper position when the top yellow staging lights come on the starting tree, when the staging light are on in your lane the timing system will recognize your participation in this particular race. It is important to remember one thing when staging your snowmobile “HOLD THE BRAKS” if your Snowmobile rolls thru the Guard Beam in your lane the timing system will not fire, leaving the other three racers wondering what part of “HOLD THE BRAKES” did you not understand? The next portion of the race is E,T. Elapse time of the race track is a distance of 500’ It is important to remember one thing when drag racing your snowmobile “GO STREIGHT” the lanes are 24’ wide and 500’ long more than enough room to work with (do not swap lanes) “GO STREIGHT”. The shutdown area is 100’ wide by 1,450’ long more than enough distance to get even the biggest thunder Snowmobile to stop. After stopping you will look left and right make sure no one else is coming, you will turn to the RIGHT and proceed to the return lane to pick up tour time slips showing your R,T. / E,T. and your finish placement. After receiving your time slips you may return to your trailer to adjust your Snowmobile performance or you may return to the staging lanes to race again. Minimum age to participate in this Snowmobile drag race is 16 years of age with valid I,D. Reserve team parking is available upon request 20’ wide X 100’ long $50.00 U,S,D. per space. Admission to the event is $10.00 per person kids under 12 are free.

Storm Team 8 Forecast

The Michigan Winter Fest / Hastings 500’ UPDATE 10-5-2015
{Weather} I have said it before and I will say it again “God loves drag racers”
http://woodtv.com/2014/01/22/storm-team-8-forecast/
http://www.wzzm13.com/weather/

http://www.wwmt.com/weather/
{S,S,B,B. Shootout} Yes you can enter on race day. Remember all race day entries are cash only $250.00 to play %100 pay back, and also let’s not forget to thank our sponsors Zeigler Motorsports for their $2000.00 in BONUS money they have provided just for this class.
{Track Safety} Looks like Wednesday will be the best day for track prep the issues of the bump in lanes 1 & 2 at about the 400’ mark of the shutdown will be repaired. Keep in mind YZRP does not own the Barry Expo Center and believe me I will get a call asking to explain why YZRP put dirt on top of their nice grass. So please be calm this is not my first day building race tracks.
{Outlaw Class} Ever since the outlaw sleds came into being the question of how long should the distance be in a shutdown area has loomed at just about every track in the US and Canada with only a few acceptations. This year at The Michigan Winter Fest / Hastings 500’ “S,S,B,B. Shootout” the Outlaw sleds are a featured class. And with concerns about the racing distance being 500’or 330’ on race day, YZRP has decided to leave it up to the Outlaw class teams to decide. On Friday night October 9 2015 we will have a meeting right after testing is over to decide the length of the outlaw class racing distance. Whatever length is voted on we will run. The officials at MHSRA say changing the length of the race from 500’ to 330’is as simple as point and click.
{Announcements} The announcer for The Michigan Winter Fest / Hastings 500’ is Chris Riley. Now Chris knows just about everyone in the snowmobile racing world but maybe Chris does not know your story, so Chris needs driver BIO’s. Who you are, Where you are from, and for God’s sake who are your sponsors!!! Please put this together on a word document or other printed form because sometimes it is hard to read hand writing from others.
If you have any other questions please contact me via cell phone because we will be at the track every day from now on.
616-260-4382. Thank You

Hastings 500’ S,S,B,B. Shootout changes
Slight change to the S,S,B,B. Shootout 2015 at The Michigan Winter Fest / Hastings 500’ snowmobile Grass Drags In Hastings MI located at the Barry Expo Center 5778 N Middleville Rd, Hastings MI 49058-9780. We have been approached by a close knit group of Chrome Plated Go Fast Teams wanting to participate in our S,S,B,B. event, and they have brought to my attention that the Snow Bash event had a limit of 16 entries that had to race to get in by a certain date at $500.00 each. We on the other hand are not limiting the field to try to gather as many NHSRA class teams as we could at $500.00 each. The price after lengthy discussion may have been a bit too steep at $500.00 per entry. So we are reducing the entry cost to $250.00 per entry effective 9-26-15 we would rather have 64 or more entries at $250.00 per entry then 16 at $500.00. We hope this price reduction will encourage teams from all over the USA & Canada to make plans to attend our Fire Breth’en Ground Pound’en Sod Digg’en Drag Strip from “HELL” S,S,B,B. Shootout. In other words you gon’a watch somebody Grass Drag Racing or are you gon’a BE somebody Grass Drag Racing!!!
Thank You For Your Support.

On Saturday October 10 2015 at The Michigan Winter Fest / Hastings 500’ Grass Drags located at 5778 N. Middleville Rd. Hastings MI 49058-9780 The three Amigos Shane Isenga (Meat Slinger)-Chad Momber (Sparta A-1 Towing) & Todd Johnson (Big Rig) will prepare a after the race diner party to be held right in the snowmobile team trailer pit area as soon as racing is done on Saturday evening. Now for those of you that have not attended the three Amigos party just pretend you are a rock star and someone says “Back Stage Party” Hell Ya! The only thing the Amigos would ask is if some folks could bring a dish to pass because all they do is meat and believe me they do a good job at that. So after the racing is over for the day follow the smell of the cooker and enjoy the feast. And make sure you thank the sponsors the three Amigos because they do all this for the love of the people and the party

“Look Over Hear” That’s what we are calling a new idea we came up with for The 2015 Michigan Winter Fest / Hastings 500’ grass drags at the Barry Expo Center in Hastings Michigan October 9-10-11. The idea works like this, your team is sponsored by company “X” and as a good team owner you shower your sponsor with tons of information on your team’s progress throughout the drag racing season. And the sponsor may respond to this by saying wow that’s great what else ya got that’s cool & exciting? Ok YZRP wants to help, you need to present to your sponsors the opportunity to set up display space on the spectator /vendor side of the Hastings 500’ drag strip right next to the start line so as a sponsored drag racing team you will be able to place your chrome plated go fast unit right at their display so the crowd can view how your sponsors way cool products are being used in real time while you tell everybody how great and wonderful your sponsor and their products are. We got this idea from some of the changes to Pro Stock car in NHRA and we think this will work to enhance Manufacture & Aftermarket company exposure. The key is to get the spectator to come to your display and how do you do that? Easy with { BLING.} This will require at least one racing unit and one driver to be present between rounds while the team and pit equipment remain in the hot pit area on the team side of the track. You need to act fast to get your sponsor space reserved because there is a limited area close to the start line to make this convenient for you and your sponsor. Once you have set this marketing opportunity up with your sponsor simply have their marketing department contact us at 616-260-4382 M-F 8am-8pm EST tell them to be sure to mention they wish to be part of the “Look Over Hear” Program. they can also get The Michigan Winter Fest vendor show layout information at YZRP.com Let’s make this work I am sure the fans will love it!
