Now vs Then ↔️

Until we moved to Denver a couple of years ago I’d never been on skis or a snowboard. My mountain life only consisted of driving down the in fall. With some convincing from I decided to learn to snowboard. In all honesty it was one of the hardest and scariest things I’ve ever done. And often still is.

If you swipe to see the first pic. This is me, in 2020, a few weeks before the pandemic. I’m sitting on the bunny slopes about to start a snowboard lesson. I was anxious, excited and a bit overwhelmed. In the first pic, from today, I continue to feel anxious, excited and a bit overwhelmed, but I’ve upgraded from the bunny slopes 🐇 to blacks ▪️.

I’m so grateful for this life and so many adventures!

Ok, where did the first half of January go? I had to do a double take when I realized the date this morning.

I really have been quite terrible at consistent posting since the holiday season kicked off. However, I’m getting back in the grove and planning for new content, revamping branding and website, getting new headshots and looking forward to making more memories with the sweetest clients ever!

This year I’ll be headed to NC in May and SC in late summer/fall. I’ll keep all of my Carolina friends updated with dates so we can get your shoots scheduled!

Welcome to 2022!

I realized this morning that I have posted in nearly a month. And I was inconsistent at best at the end of 2021. And guess what… I’m totally okay with it.

We’ve been busy with work and making family time a priority. If that means I have less time for social media I don’t see that as a problem. It was a blessing.

I’m excited about a new year in my photography business and helping grow I think this year will be full of surprises and growth for both of our companies.

I hope you all had a great holiday season! I can’t wait to see what the new year has in store for all of us!

The holidays are often filled with the hustle and bustle to get things done. We have made it a priority to slow down during the holidays to enjoy traditions, make new ones and spend time with family and friends.

I was absolutely thrilled when The Writer family reached out about doing a family photo shoot over Thanksgiving weekend. They wanted to take advantage of the boys being home from college to update their family photos. We walked through the Streets of Southtglen, sipped warm drinks and took in the Christmas lights. What a lovely way to enjoy the holiday. It was totally worth working during a time when I usually take time off. Helping a family capture moments like this is why I do what I do!

On a visit from their hometown of Seattle, planned the perfect picnic proposal at Red Rocks to ask to be his wife! and I were there to capture the magic and it was nothing short of spectacular!

Charleston, you are full of the prettiest places for photos. Oh how lucky I am to be able to visit often.

I’ve been taking photos of this family since Mike and Kirsten were engaged. Through the wedding, the first and second pregnancies, I’ve watched this family grow. It makes my heart happy every time I get to spend time with them. See you guys on my next visit to Charleston.

My body and brain are still adjusting to the time difference.🥱😴 I spent nearly 2 weeks on east coast time + the time change. I’m wide awake at 5 am and ready for bed at 7 pm. Anyone else still on the struggle bus with the time change?

Dear clients, if you’ve been waiting for an email reply or galleries I want to say thank you for your patience. I’ll continue to be in the office all weekend getting your photos ready! 2 weeks away for travel and work have my to do list over flowing, but I’m working all weekend to get caught up! Can’t wait to share photos from my work and travels.

Do you ever take a break from social media?

I’ve kind of been MIA for over a week! I’ll admit it was a nice break. I haven’t posted or thought about posting. I’ve scrolled occasionally and shared a few stories, but overall I’ve been absent.

My absence from Instagram was not a conscious one. I’ve just been busy in the office, visiting with family, handling home/mom/business stuff while is on the road building a company. I’ve also managed to sneak in a little me time here and there to paint. I suppose it was an unintended disconnection from social media and being fully connected in other areas.

This weekend is full of fun… family shoots, cake smash and a surprise 🤫💍!! Then next week I’m off to Charleston for a low country wedding, mini sessions and time with So I’ll be back sharing all the goodness I capture with my camera. I love sharing those special moments that I’m allowed to be a part of and that fill me with so much joy!

I love this crazy busy life!

There’s a nice chill in the air this morning. I’m tempted to crawl back under the blanket and drink my coffee from bed! Instead I think I’ll break out my boots and a cozy sweater. Fall is here! 🍂🍂🍂

I’ve had such a fun week. I’ve worked with the sweetest families, met the cutest baby boy, chatted with a dream bride, and played in the aspens! I’m wrapping up the week with brunch, a business meeting and capping off the day with girls night out. A little Friday fun is just what I need before rolling into another busy weekend.

I hope all of you go out and do something fun today! Take a few minutes away from the to do list and do something just for you.

Iris was definitely a fan of the fall leaves! 🍂🍂🍂 This was my third year in a row with this adorable party of 3 and we had the best morning together in Golden. Watching a family grow year after year warms my heart.

Planning days… fun, exhausting and necessary. They are also kind of a scary. That may seem silly, but it’s how I feel.

I’ve been so hesitant to jump on the reel train, but I’m not sure I have another choice. 🤦🏼‍♀️. Be patient and kind because I have NO IDEA what I’m doing. Haha 😂

Today I’ll be scouting out the perfect location for the upcoming fall minis. I’m packing a lunch so I can sit in the woods and plan content for my upcoming reels. 🙏🏻 Prayers and good vibes appreciated.

My garden has exploded into a gorgeous rainbow 🌈 of deliciousness! This morning I gathered cherry tomatoes, squash blossoms, a zucchini, purple cauliflower and a couple of heirloom tomatoes. Dinner tonight will be full of homegrown goodness!
